    Sandi,
They have no idea how calm and polite this thread is compared to what we see on social media every day. :joy:

From my point of view, this has been the ONLY thread worth watching. The rest of the forum lacks input from those who were banned or left in support. It's become a very bland and uninspiring place to visit.

Have you tried some of the conversations about motorbikes? I hear they're quite popular. ;)

Yes, I do enjoy these, but they aren't debates, are they?

Yes, it was the only possible result from what I could see and it paves the way for Monday's meeting of the electoral college to be a formality. Hopefully an end, too, to a shameful period in US political history that has cost the GOP - and to some extent, the country - the respect of the rest of the world.

Maybe allow some time. Some people that left months ago came back.
If permitting all people whatever they vote and do their life to feel welcome involve less entertainement for a while is to me an acceptable price to pay

You are of course entitled to you view regarding the forum and the content. And yes the banned folk obviously cannot post, but there are many on the forum that don’t share your view and continue to enjoy the many and different subjects open for view and to be able to contribute to. You are able to liven up any debate that you feel needs it .

I am not altogether surprised. I suspected SCOTUS would follow the Constitution rather than ‘go activist’ but they ruled on a narrow point of law about Texas’ legal standing which I referenced pages back. It doesn’t stop someone with a dog in the fight for submitting a case on the same facts. It’s probably happening right now in all the swing States.

However, you can’t help but feel the various legislatures are trying to get the courts to do their heavy lifting. If, as alleged, State officials broke State law in the conduct of the election it is open to State legislators to rectify things. We don’t refer here to the ‘High Court of Parliament’ for nothing.

I still think this has more mileage in it notwithstanding the 14 Dec nominal deadline for choosing State electors.

    Popcorn!

There is at least one difficulty for such a course Cal, namely estoppel.

This laughable legal mind cannot see how state legislatures will be able to use technical flaws (if any) in their own election processes to overturn the results.

Any court worth it’s salt will ensure that the states cannot deny their electorates just because if their own failings of public administration.

(Wearily) But I do know what estoppel means and when it doesn’t apply.

Oh I know they’re going to have to drag him out of the White House kicking and screaming, but it’s over.
We’ll see what is done over the next 4 years what is done to ensure the next election cannot be questioned.

Looking forward winter is over to have more bike threads.
