This evening it was a Negroni with a new gin, Aviation. Well, it's new to me anyway. Bought this 1 liter bottle for a great price at our neighborhood Sam's Club (Walmart's version of Costco). I'll need to taste the gin neat or at least in a nice martini to really assess it. But it sure was delicious as a component of tonight's cocktail hour. :yum:)

Well, I had the Aviation Gin in a Negroni a couple of evenings ago and said I'd need to give it a go in a martini or neat to really see what I thought of it. So tonight I made a martini and sat in the back yard with Mr. Sandi who had a glass of Pinot.

I do like the Aviation but not quite as much as I do Hendrick's, Uncle Val's, or The Botanist. But I suspect I'll need to try it again tomorrow evening just to double check. ;)

Continuing with the martini theme, tonight I made a Gibson with Orbium Hendrick's gin and Vya vermouth accompanied by truffle oil marcona almonds. Delicious! And, as always, very "therapeutic". ;)

A bit of a cocktail evening last night. Marstons Pedigree and Theakstones Old Peculier, both served at just below room temperature. Yummy:heart_eyes: Alka Seltzer and toast this morning.:dizzy:

Looks like the cashews don’t go down as easy as the gin? ;).

We lived 5 miles from the brewery until recently, been many times with visitors to our house. We used to alternate between the Black sheep brewery and the theakstones one across the road. The guy who opened the Black sheep brewery was indeed the black sheep of the family.

There used to be a brewery in Rochdale town centre in the 1960s but I can’t remember (Thought it Robinson’s) it’s name.
From distant memory, one day each week? there would be a lovely smell hanging over the town centre.
Not sure which ingredients caused it but it was very nice, even to me, a none drinker in those distant days.
    Cheers,Ken.

There used to be one in Oldham too, "Oldham Brewery" not surprisingly. I grew up supping their wonderful golden brown bitter or now and then their thick creamy dark mild. Went to piss once taken over by Boddingtons and production was moved to Manchester.
