Well I was out on Ron's Moffat Ride-out today and everyone was lovely so I thought I better sign up and join the forum. Thanks for organising it SIII (Mr Orange or even just Ron. I've been riding a Street Triple R for just over five years and I've just passed the 32,000 mile mark. So here's to another 32,000 miles on her as I have no intention of selling her...
Welcome from me too Dean.... was nice meeting you today. Enjoy your bike trip to Spain & Portugal when it comes you lucky lucky ****
Welcome Dean..didn't know you were a checa fan! thought you would have been VR46 !..usual suspects on the front row tomorrow, not much between them, pedrosa still struggling though i was hoping it was going to be his year
Ah, the carelesschucca name comes from a long time ago... I was taking abuse from friends for my first ever crash while doing a track day at Knockhill and I got named worse than Carlos and then some smart burger then called me carelesschucca, and it stuck (I use it on every forum I'm on) As for top riders the now I like Marquez (soured slightly by his antics last year) I also liked Stoner, I remember watching him in the 125's at Knockhill as a youngster, he made the others look silly and it blew me away, his crash in the 250's at Welkom was epic too, I can't remember how many times the bike left the ground before it eventually spat him off.
I don't want to worry you but I've been hugging Ron for a few years now. He's one of the nicest fellas out there, its his fault I was out today and joined up...
Nice one Dean,I remember when Ron Haslam used to hold his race school at Knockhill years ago and me and a mate were on our first lap the guy in front of us came off at the hairpin and they wouldn't let him continue (it was in the small print that if you came off that you couldn’t go back on) he had paid £200 odd quid and didn’t even do one lap he was not a happy bunny! I’ve always liked Stoner I don’t think he deserved the abuse he used to/still gets. There all hero’s to me though, I remember being at Valencia when they were doing the “make as much noise as you can” lap of honour for Simoncelli lead by my all time favourite rider Kevin Schwantz, you couldn’t help but get a lump in the throat during that. One rider I could never take to was Lorenzo until I read his book, that totally changed my opinion about him, well worth a read if you haven’t read it, Rossi has been my favourite since he started out in the 125s such a character and really ruthless on the track..maybe too ruthless at times but it made for great viewing! i always looked forward to see what his new celebration would be,it’s a shame he doesn’t do that anymore but like he says it is harder to predict a win now, although I have been disappointed in things he’s said and done in recent years but I guess he’s never really had this level of competition in the past. Marquez is just something else, the first year he won the title I couldn’t believe what I was seeing he looked as if he was going to crash all the time and breaking records every time he rode the bike, I hadn’t seen anyone so exciting since Schwantz ..only difference Schwantz crashed more! I’m sure if he doesn’t injure himself which scarily always looks a possibility, he will become one of the greatest if not the greatest rider ever..should be an exciting season!!
