Seen it done on other Thruxtons and like the look of them. Quite a few parts on my bike have gone from silver to black.
Have a look at the Thruxton RS, you’ll see what I mean

Purchased a damaged tank then spent some time putting right a bodged repair made by a previous owner and then fuel proofing the tank with some stuff from Wyldes up in Leeds. However it says one pack is enough for a 25L tank but it isn't so I've purhased a second pack. Hope the tank doesn't leak and the fuel prooffing works after all this time and money. The blue tank (minus the bit I have removed) is available if anyone needs to make similar repairs.

Purchased a second hand bagster tank cover and a new tankbag for the speedy.
I've given up on givi as their quality seems lacking on their stuff these days.
All in preparation for the black forest trip in july.... :)

Are you going to try making them tubeless?

Its the red tape on the wheels. I would never have, put red tape on gold wheels, and it looks great. Like the highlight on the tyres too. Will you remove the pillion rests?

I’d have liked to but was advised against it by a local bike mechanic and I trust his judgement.
Apparently the rim profile shape is different to that of a tubeless rim, the tyre might not seat properly leading to other problems......and could be serious ones!!!

After going to a tree farm to cut our tree (and visit the petting zoo, go on a hayride during which I make us sing carols, have hot chocolate and cookies in the bed of the truck with the tree, and visit Santa), we managed to cram in a super short ride yesterday to my brother's to show him my new bike, unannounced. I knew he would be happy for me and I looked forward to surprising him. He did a doubletake when he saw me pull up because for a very brief second he was confused at me seeming like I was riding my husband's '76 Bonneville but then he glanced back at Ron and really did a doubletake. Had to keep it below 4k which was a little hard on the country roads to his house but now I'm 50 miles into my break-in. Will be hard to find ride time between now and Christmas, but will try. I won't despise small beginnings

Hi, Andyguy, love the look of the tyres, what tyre paint did you use, the branded one I use tends to fade after a few trips especially on the rear. It looks like you put that on with a fine brush, am I correct?

My gear shift lever, well the end peg of it was a bit damaged and the rubber was half broke. Had purchased a lovely new shiny one which apparently perfectly replaces the stock one. However for the life of me could not get the thing off! Now the thing has no rubber on it all and looks worse than it did before I started  so if anyone has any ideas?

Looks like it’ll be easier just to replace the whole lever and peg now ...

here’s the gear shift lever and the end peg that’s supposed to replace the stock peg, though I’m starting to think that the peg IS part of the lever ...

Is there not a screw on the other side of the lever?
You probably can't see that unless you take the lever off the bike though!
