So, (As a lot of folks start of their post with these days) having been unable to get a realistic arrival date for the new Triumph 660, and then getting a call from bmw saying they had a R9T (Low) model in for short asses I decided to get it, just to put me on mind. It’s a 2020 model and it was cheap....or is that ‘They are cheap!) . Cheers,Ken.
Not a great fan of B*W, but that looks like it could be a fun ride. Congratulations on your new ride, when is being delivered
it's not even finished!!!! You'll find it painful by the time you get it out of the shop....!! Seriously, sweet ride and v nice sir! ps, the chair behind it looks like a bent rack is on it!
Hi, Hi, It was just after Triumph announced (Or someone on this forum did?) their new 660, I received email from the D P store saying the had the “Low” in stock. So next day, Tuesday I rode to the Triumph store, got offered a very good trade in price for the Ditch, but, after being told the new 660 might be here mid next year I left for the BM store. 2 days later the dp was delivered and the took the old one away. Not turned a wheel since due my body and the none (For me) motorcycling weather. Cheers,Ken. PS. Being in the class of 3.5 ft. ahs it’s the way the back end of most modern bike seats swoop up that impedes me when trying to get a knackered leg/hip over to mount. The BM is pretty flat in that regard. When I took that old 1100rs I bought to a local garage to get it checked and MOT d, I had to stand on the foot rest to get on.
I think they’ve lacquered that Ali tank with the lovely T.I.G. weld from front to back along the top. And, I commissioned Dilligaf to come down and design, make (All stuff from his scrap box) and fit that rear rack. Cheers,Ken.
When, like me, you only do short rides anymore (50/100 miles a day) it’s not too bad, even without the Air Hawk. Ken.
I was VERY tempted with a pump that had the m-sport paint on it after seeing one at the nec. I went for the trumpet rs but the pump you are getting looks great. Enjoy!
Congratulations on that new bike, Ken! Hope you can get out on it soon. Thanks for posting photos for us to ogle!
Aahhhrrr NineT! You will enjoy the engine and its exhaust note! I found mine surprisingly comfortable... The seat looks awfully thin but is not too bad actually. I love this bike...
Hi Winglad, I ran the 9T X 719 option (in the little round picture on the left) for 13 months and did enjoy it and I’m sure this next one won’t disappoint. Cheers,Ken. PS. Is yours (You still have it?) the /5 version? Lovely colour.
Very nice - but then I'm a fan! Managed to get out on mine this week despite the crappy weather. That seat is more comfortable than it looks - I've done runs of up to 2 hours on it but I wouldn't want to be on there all day!
Yes, I was lucky to get one of the few /5 homage versions. The lines on the fuel tank are hand painted. Great job. When I bought it, it was officially not limited but suddenly BMW ceased production (I think: too expensive, since too many special parts). So the dealer asked me, if I was willing to trade it in for the buying price to swap for a 1250 RS. ...I was not
