2019 Speed Twin Black Headlight Brackets

Have sprayed up the headlamp brackets and will start on the heel guards tomorrow, will do the handlebar risers at a later date. Interesting discovery as I was taking the parts off.The right hand headlamp bracket bolts were barely hand tight with the left hand side torqued up as I would expect. The right hand heel guard bolts were thread locked in and the left barely tightened at all and no thread lock. I hope the handlebar risers are tightened up!

 

I did my headlamp brackets, the heel guards and whatever those upper sliver covers are in rattlecan black. Rustolium satin black. I love the look, especially the headlight brackets. They really needed it with the black Dart brackets, imo.

 

Still haven't got round to doing the handlebar risers, got the paint and will try to do them over X-Mas. Seem to look really out of place in silver the more I look at them.

 

What about Plastidip? Apparently very easy to use and it's easily reversible/completely non-destructive.

 

I have played with Pastidip before, it is easily removable from metal... Only issue I can foresee would be that the rubber texture does attract and hold dust. It starts out glossy and turns into a dirty matte over time.

I figured if I ever wanted to strip the Rustolium, I could drop the part in a can of Xylene and let it sit overnight. Nothing I sprayed had plastic components.
