Hi Guys, Just bought a 2013 Bonneville T100 SE. I've had bikes since I was 16 progressing from a BSA Bantam D7 through several Brit bikes to the late Seventies. When the children arrived I changed to Japanese commuter bikes, mainly a succession of Super Dreams & Benlys. By the early 90's I was riding a 750 VFR which I traded for my first Honda Pan European to go continental touring on and so started my addiction to the mountain passes in Alpine regions. (Alpinitis). I've been most years since then to the lumpy bits of Europe on a succession of BMW's RT's and GS's and more recently a Tiger 1050. I bought a Tiger 800XRx thinking this would do everything for me from day runs to continental touring but found that although I could get the top right with handlebar risers & Madstad screen, I couldn't get over the cramped position my legs were in causing knee problems on long rides. So, that's now gone and I've bought a 2011 BMW K1600GT SE for the long haul. I think it's the most accomplished bike I have ever ridden, but the Bonny speaks to my soul. So reminiscent of my youth and the Brit bikes I rode back then but without the oil leaks and unreliability. Here's a couple of pics of the Bonnie. The first at Wells-Next-The-sea and the second at Oxborough. So far the Bonny has been the weapon of choice for both me and the wife on our local rides out
PM me when you are thinking of coming and we can meet up and have a ride on some of the less well travelled roads
Hi Valkman and welcome in to the Triumph Playground. 'Valkman', that sounds like a familiar handle? Have we crossed paths before? Land Rover forum perhaps?
I've had the handle for more than 25 yrs. At one time I had an F6c Valkyrie and my mates called me the Valkman. It stuck and I've used it on many forums predominantly bike related but none to do with Land Rovers
It'll be the Valkyrie connection - I had one a few years ago. 6 pipes and trigger wheel, air on the rear, CBR brakes etc etc
South Wootton. We'll have to organise a ride out in the summer when Half Ton sneaks past border control and slips into Norfolk.
