Well , there are other parameters in Sweden.
Big cities have a density equivalent to small/medium cities in UK.
They have far less social behavior than UK, France, Spain.
All this aligned, Sweden is not a miracle. The collective immunity is not conclusive. They did what they thought to be right, and as this virus was unknown, I won't blame them. But at the end the result is the same, and taking in account the parameters listed upper, some may even consider they did worth.
Lockdown works, in France we are in this schema since 30th of October, and since a couple of days, the number of hospital entrance slightly starts to flatten and lower. No rocket science there, just facts.

Don’t think he’s got it again
He’s been in close contact with someone who has tested positive and therefore has to isolate himself

Illogical. He cannot catch and cannot transmit it. The rule is for people who have not had the disease ‘in case’.

Lockdowns don’t ‘work’. They were only ever supposed to slow, not stop, the spread. For a respiratory virus there is plenty of evidence they are largely ineffective. They do serve a political purpose of being seen to ‘do’ something and condition the population to the idea of mass vaccination.
Hubaxe challenge your views and go to Ivor Cummins @FatEmperor on Twitter. Masses of links to genuinely scientific sceptics not conspiracy theorists like ‘moi’.

It works for the purpose it was made for, slow down the spreading and save hospital from saturation.
No one ever said lockdown stops the virus.
If you let down this "all is conspiracy" theory posture and biais, we almost agreed. :grinning:

However there are professionals who believe, and evidence to suggest, that it may well lead to more overall deaths.

Unfortunately yes. 300+ every day in my country. And for the ones that get sick and survive, the healing process is long. We are all at the stage we all know someone that had it.

I have NEVER said it is all a conspiracy. I do maintain there is a real virus, weak political leadership, error ridden scientific advice and some bad actors looking to make money.
We now have a cocktail of cover up and denial and people trying to salvage or preserve reputations by avoiding debate. That is the exact opposite of genuine scientific method.
Most of the ‘scientists’ aren’t..... notice how many of the soft scientists have faded from our screens? Social and psychological....... The pathologists, microbiologists and epidemiologists have been sidelined by amateurs and mathematicians FFS!

How many people die in France at this time of year from respiratory infections? You can only understand Covid in context.

Biaising stuff like "PCR are massively wrong" (no they aren't, they just can't be accurate 100%), "lockdown don't work, it don't stop the virus" (no one said that), is a usual process. So don't call it conspiracy if you like... : unamused:

This is just one example, where the projected deaths arising from the lockdown could be twice as many as those deaths from Covid itself.

"Lockdown 'may kill 75,000' - that's the OFFICIAL projection of the deadly toll of Covid restrictions including missed cancer diagnoses, cancelled operations and health impacts of a recession."

Yes, even if a clear projection is not possible, it's likely to be like that.
My father died in April from a surgery, during the Covid pick. He had surgery in the maternity facility, and we can clearly question ourself if he would have survived if the hospital was not saturated at this moment. That's just assumption, and no one knows. But yes the impact will be huge.

Can Anyone on here be 100% sure of what they are posting  NO
What I think I’m seeing is people finding what they want to believe
If you look for evidence to back yourself up you’ll surely find it and ignore other evidence that might not fit in with your thinking :(
Peter finds an article to back up his theory :)
Comes back and presents evidence
Paul finds a graph to back up his theory :)
Comes back and presents evidence

    fly away Peter
    fly away Paul

    come back Peter
    come back Paul

    :p

France and UK have fairly similar population sizes. About 2,000 people will die today in each country of all causes. Respiratory infections increase greatly over winter.

Pin this on your wall and re-read in 5 years time. By the way, the whole point of a (hopefully safe) vaccine is to achieve herd immunity. To that extent you are contradicting yourself.

Add to that people that from their own didn't have their appointments, medication, because they felt bad to add another saturation.
