My name is Reggie, i'm 50 and live in Midlothian, i've in been lurking on this site for a month or so now as I was looking to buy my first Triumph, a Street Twin. Happy to say it arrived last Saturday and i've managed out a couple of times and put 200 miles on the clock. I put a few extras on it but by far the best has been the Vance and Hines exhausts. Haven't been over 60 mph yet but the sound they make is fantastic. It's so different from any bike i've had over the past 13 years, especially the feel from the slipper clutch, I think this one could be a keeper. Anyway, here's to a warm dry summer with many safe miles ahead for everyone. Reggie
Welcome Reggie, i'm sure you will love your new bike, my pal was eyeing one up at the bike show i keep telling him to go for it! there is a run organized on the 9th april meeting up in Moffat you would be more than welcome if you fancy it,you can find out info on it if you go to rideouts & events in the forum
Thanks for the welcomes everyone...... very friendly bunch I have been keeping an eye on the Moffat thread Dougie D as it's just down the road from me, actually it was the first place I went to when I picked up my bike last Saturday and I was there again today. I'd love to attend the meet thanks but i'll need cover from workmates as i'm working the 9th. I'll see what happens. Another 200 miles done today on a really great bike, i'm so glad I bought this Triumph.
Hi Reggie, welcome in it would be really hard not to like this bike, excellent value, ride safe and enjoy, you got it just in time for the better weather ahead, I hope
Thanks again for the welcomes guys. Yes it's a great bike Peter... i'm going out for a run again tomorrow, need to get the mileage up to 500 before next weeks first service. A pleasant chore I reckon
Yes it's looking good for tomorrow. Got some new tunes to listen to through my recently bought Scala Rider Bluetooth thingy so i'm good to go. Have a good one littleade
Yes it's a bit daunting taking a blade to your expensive lid, I let a local dealer do it for me as I was guaranteed to make an ar$e of it doing it myself. Mine's the solo Rider QZ model. My mate has ridden BMW's for as long as I can remember (mainly GS's) I've lots of photographs of our bikes together over the years. Great bikes the big beemers..... I do like them.
Hi and welcome. Hope you can make it along on the 9th to moffat. Take it easy and enjoy the new bike.
Thanks. Yes will try nearer the time to swap showroom duty with a colleague. I'm in sales and it's a bugger trying to get time off at the weekend. Plenty time off through the week for biking though so it's not too bad.
And welcome to you Sam..... lovely bike you've got there fella Mine hasn't turned a wheel since March 25th (the day I took the mileage to 500) I stupidly booked the first service too far away and i'm a bit reluctant to do much over the agreed amount. Anyway service day is this Monday the 4th so with any luck Edinburgh Triumph will fit my heated grips and my other couple of bits of bling and i'll be good to go. I'm also hoping they'll give me a Street Triple as a courtesy bike ...... i've always wanted a go on one of those. Hope you have many trouble free miles on your new bike.
Thank you reggie, I'm really enjoying the street twin I think it's a keeper . I've had a few new new bikes and to be honest the dealers have never been to fussy on the first service, as long as its with in a 100 miles of the stated mileage. Ooooooo what other bits of bling are you having fitted?
