    @Hobnail, I wish your beloved's parents well. :kissing_heart:

I'm curious about your church holding a ride. What sort of ride and what sort of church? I ask because we have some "biker churches" sprinkled throughout the Southwest out here.

this morning....it's freezing fog...so i started stripping down to replace the fork oil & put new springs in... got this far before i couldn't feel my hands or feet...on to the last bit - the rear section of the mudguard - always a sod of a job....have lubed it with wd and left it for the day - hence the puddle underneath

i think you do yourself a great disservice... no bike looks too good when it's half missing.... i do my best to keep Custard as well maintained as i can though...and i don't think she's too shabby for a 2001 with 47K miles on the clock.

just wait and comment next year when i'm stripping down and overhauling the front calipers and replacing brake lines....... i'll be swearing then 8)

That's looking really good, Ron - I like the idea of going with black bars. But, I was rather hoping we'd see some "before, during and after" shots and, perhaps, a write up of the process? Or is that already in the planning? :)

@Sandi T. Several members of Coram Deo Bible Church try to ride on a regular basis. Some are Christian Motorcycle Association, as well, and the local Muscatine chapter seems to have many events. Our "ad hoc" leader is an in and out cancer survivor (by the Grace of God you are saved!) who lives each day, well "coram deo". He rides a scrappy Honda (what he can afford) that barely can keep up on the highways. Often times, someone will loan him a ride. Alas, between our crowded lives and his cancer treatment bouts, its not often that the stars line up for everyone. The church doesn't officially sanction the rides (insurance you know), but since there is a Harley dealer next door to the church and we share the parking lots, it works out pretty well for all parties. They are riding out to Anamosa and J&P Cycles today. Here's an image of a ride in happier times.

Gave mine a good scrubbing and a winterizing coat of Mucoff MO94 spray yesterday. I don’t have ACF50 or GT85 here but the MO has served well. I’m going into my 3rd year of winter with the bike crossing the 10k mile mark soon, and there’s not a spot of corrosion to be seen. It’s shiny too! I also put a good coat of wax on the tin work. Today I’m off on a long social distancing ride to clear my head. My wife is a nurse and got the call last night that she’s been exposed to a confirmed case of the ‘Rona for the last five days. At least they had to let her know this time, the last couple of times the arsehole admins at the hospital didn’t even let anyone know. I swear, if something happens to her I’m doing things to them that will make Hannibal Lechter sh%t himself.

Thanks, @Hobnail. Very cool. Sounds like a good group of folks. Mr. Sandi and I have talked about renting motorcycles when we go back to visit my family in southwestern Minnesota and, among other places, riding to Anamosa to see the National Motorcycle Museum and also visiting J & P. We always stop by the huge J & P vendor tent at all the rally we attend as they are always a major presence. A quick check on Google Maps shows that Anamosa is just over 300 miles from my home town. Is it worth the trip? What would be the best motorcycle route?

Great photos, @OsteKuste. I'm really sorry to hear that your wife was exposed to COVID--and over days. :( My fingers are that she doesn't contract it and stays healthy. Glad you're getting out for a therapy ride.

I’ll be interested to see how it helps your comfort issues. I can see a similar job in my future. What did you have to change?

Finally set my sag for the front struts and mono, installed last year. Thanks @Bad Billy for the old post.
I had been happy with the settings and ride, but after the adjustments (5mm rear and 15mm front), I can ride over speed humps without slowing or getting slammed and the pot holes are less noticeable :p

Mr. Sandi and I drove over to our local Triumph dealership this afternoon and the good news is that my clutch problem is warrantied. :grinning: The service manager told me the problem entails the clutch perch assembly. I'm not sure exactly what the specific problem is but he said this has happened with other Speed Triple RS's. Anyway, a new assembly and lever have been ordered and are scheduled to arrive on Tuesday. They plan to get the work done on my bike on Tuesday so I'm going to pick it up on Wednesday since I'm off work for Veteran's Day. My Speed Triple will have been out of our garage for a week--by far the longest it has been away from home since I bought it just shy of two years ago. I'm looking forward to it being back in the garage where it belongs. Unless we're out on the road together, that is! :):):)

Been a busy boy the last couple of weeks. Took the TT off the road to prep it for a re-paint over the winter. All was going well with everything but the nose cone, which needed a new crack fixing, being prepped and primed.
Fixed the crack and was sanding it all back ready for primer when it gave way on a bad previous repair, bounced on the floor and shattered.
I’ve decided that as these are so bloody expensive, (if you can find a good one) not to bother putting the fairing back on and am going down the S4 route.
So, am just about to order the paint and clear and with less to order, am going to go for a bit of a bonkers colour. Pics so far.

Cheers mate. It’s not quite ready for base coat yet, last fine wet sand to do then hot water and Fairy liquid wash (excellent degreaser is that) a dry off, panel wipe and tack cloth then I’ve got a sub base coat to do before the base colour and 2k lacquer. It’s the first time I’ve done it and I’m really taking my time to get it right. Not bad for rattle cans as a base but I’ll be using proper kit for the colour and clear.

:) Likely that separated by a common language thing.
All I meant was that all *I've* done with my bike today is bung it on charge because the sodding thing wouldn't start. But within this thread there's guys making cylinder heads out of beer cans they've smelted in their shed :D
