Fitted some new shoes onto Betty (Avons) and my son of 30 informed me he is picking up a triumph bobber next weekend. His mother is not showing signs of excitement, although to be fair he did only as his bike test a week ago.
A simple bar going from the bottom of your boxes up to the frame creating a triangle would stop that.
Um... have you seen the pictures of the welds? I'm not sure more bracing is going to fix the problem, it may just mean more scattered pieces on the roadway. I'm sorry Duckadiledundee, but it seems your grinder skills are much more advanced than your welding skills? Getting all the paint off the boxes and bracing before you start would help, but it mostly looks like you have heat and /or shielding gas issues. Are you using a shielding gas bottle or innershield wire with no gas? The pictures show a combination of not enough heat on some of the piled up welds on the frame and bracing, and then some burn through issues on the cans. Any paint in the area leads to burn off and contamination of the weld. If the cans are that thin, you may have better luck with bolts holding them to the braces instead of welding. If you have to weld the cans to the braces, try concentrating the heat and weld on your bracing, and then just barely flow it onto the can.
Short test ride for the new helmet after a bike wash. Plenty of people around for labour day holiday and weather is stunning
what have i done on my Triumph today.... nothing... the weather is SHITE filming for today has been cancelled too - so that's shite as well the only thing I have done today is order a set of progressive wound fork springs...time to upgrade the 2001 RS a little more over the winter months.. may redo the headstock bearings and overhaul the calipers while i'm at it - finances allowing
"What you been doing with your TRIUMPH today??" Adding two additional high-powered LED brake lights to my striple, just due to being bored.
