Sandi T, that was an emotional journey, a great write up and a thoroughly enjoyable read. \with dogs, we are always going to be saying 'goodbye' at some point; you have done it in a memorable way.

I love the place names - 'Superstition', 'Wild Women Saloon' - and wonder how they got those names. There are a few 'Wild Women' pubs near where I live, though I don't think they are on the tourist trail!

You got your "witch protection patch" just in time, Duck, as Halloween is just around the corner. ;) You asked how far we are from Salem. A VERY long way.

Thanks, @Beerman. I'm glad you enjoyed my ride report. Yes, it was quite an emotional journey for us, both literally and figuratively. We've truly loved every boxer we've had over the years (five of them) but there was something particularly special about Annie for me. :)

You are right, we are always going to be saying goodbye to our loyal dogs at some point and, even though we know that going in, it hurts like crazy when the day comes that we have to say it. :( But the joy they bring to us does outweigh the pain we feel when they depart our lives. I guess if we didn't love them so much it wouldn't be so terribly hard to let them go. :sob:

Thanks, Smilinjack! It's good to BE back out on the road!:grinning: Yes, it is so true, dogs bless us beyond measure with their unconditional love and devotion but their beautiful lives are far too short. :broken_heart::heart:

If you can feel better after that and heal your obsession for gay stuff, feel free. Sorry Sandi to pollute your really nice thread.
