probably worth getting a spare rear sub frame off Ebay - just in case you change your mind and while they are still plentiful... they go for peanuts anyway

well done on attempting the welding - i cant weld for shit 8(

Well, I checked my warranty this morning. Rats! The battery is only under warranty for 12 months, not 24 months like my Harleys have been. :sob: Oh well, at least it's (hopefully) only the battery that's at issue. Unlike @Duckadiledundee and the myriad "issues" he seems to have with his steed. ;):kissing_heart:

Very creative, Chahpit. You won't run into any doppelgangers riding that thing.

Love it! I would have gone silver glitter flake on the paint however for that 1973 vibe. That's me however.

I looked at mine in the garage and thought "Hmm well that's dirty and I need new tyres". Not surprising after going to Scotland last week and totting up about 1600 miles in all through rain, wind and some sun. My son came with me on his non Triumph - a Honda CB500X. What a great little A2 bike! He had a little spill (a 50mph low side) on our second day but fortunately not much damage - it amounted to a new foot peg, scuffed bar end and a holed pannier. So he only missed one day's riding and wants to go back again! He just needs to check his tyre pressures which is why it let go. But a brilliant week!

You’ve clearly looked after your bike and still have a duff battery. So, I’m going to get a new one (original) as this fault seems to bite people in the arse (ass ) with alarming regularity!
Ps, very sorry for your loss of pooch. I have a springer spaniel who we love dearly and although we have yet to feel that loss, we know (a little bit) how you must feel. Mr Sandi too obviously.

Today I test ride my home made screen deflector (heat bent altuglas, 3D designed and printed parts. The size and angle look ok.
It's efficient, and hopefully not too ugly.

I (well, she’s bought me an early Christmas present ..)purchased a private number plate for the speedy!
Never done it before but pretty seamless from dvla directly (not the website in the pic. Dvla is cheaper all in.)
    Someone already has TR10MPH
    I'm turning the 0 into a U with a yellow mounting bolt..... ;)
    Here's a selection that i picked from.....
I’ve now named the bike "trumpy".....
Number plate has been purchased with size of 8" x 2".....
    A tad illegal...

Checked the spark plugs on the TWAT:cool:
Never seen so many connections under the tank on a bike
Pulled them all apart and gave them a squirt of electrical grease :)
Re-mounted the heated grips controller more central out of the weather :) image.jpg

What a Feckin carry on
Got the air box all put together with the new air filter in :)
Two breather pipes that come over the air box to the tank I thought I’d better check they were still clear (they were before) but not now
I thought when I took it apart the first time that they were routed strangely
    I was right
I went on tinterweb for muddy sump videos as he’s done loads on his tiger 800 and found out the correct routing for the breather pipes :)
Of course it meant that everything had to come off again to correct it
Never mind it’s all good now and I’ve put the tank back on as well :)
Had enough for today as my back and shoulders are hurting  37570E2C-1890-4C3C-A868-BF65CCABFF2E.jpeg

Ran the TWAT:cool: up this morning to run some checks :)
It’s as sweet as a nut
This afternoon however was a Feckin nightmare :imp:
The front bodywork on these Tiger’s would test the patience of a saint
From the tank forward though it’s all checked/tested and back together :)
Very happy so far and touch wood I haven’t found any horror stories  BCB923AB-EC91-412D-803B-058413B42A0D.jpeg

I guess touch wood means something totally different in the motherland, dilli. :p I'm sure it's the same as knock on wood, though. :D

As it's been a week since my last bike ride I've been itching to get out again, so with today's good weather I took my chance. Since the trees are losing there leaves and it's been very wet recently I decided to head out towards the fens, somewhere without much in the way of trees and less corners in the roads. To get there, satnav still sent me down some back roads covered with wet leaves but after taking it easy on them I got to relax more on the open fen roads.

Around midday I headed down a single track road in search of somewhere quiet to have a pee and eat my packed lunch. Unfortunately the tarmac in the middle of the road soon gave way to grass, then the tarmac at the edges gave way to subsidence and became filled with wet mud. So with my rear wheel starting to squirm I gingerly performed a 20 point turn and backtracked.

I eventually ended up stopping on the way back near one of my favourite places which looks down onto the the Welland valley.

I've got some cleaning to do tomorrow...
