Hospital acquired pneumonia is nothing new. Behind all the scaremongering and opaque evidence is an underlying truth. The majority of more recent fatal infections have been acquired AFTER hospital admission.

Positive tests only became ‘cases’ this Spring. Asymptomatic used to be called ‘well’. The level of transmission in hospitality settings is pretty low. Such as exists will be displaced into private parties, legal or not. This is a pantomime to appear to be ‘doing something’. Watch and wait.

Apparently on a percentage basis, less people working at Amazon got infected with Covid than the locked down population of the US contracting Covid

Lads. I understand you're concerned for your parents, loved ones.
But.. It a flu. People will die. There is NO escaping.
Facemasks? It's sadly not gonna stop anything.
So that's it. Let's move on.

I know a couple who after we in the North East got told we couldn’t go to visit other people in their homes decided to visit relatives down south :(
They both have health problems and decided to have two nights in Nottingham on the way down even though Nottingham was all over the news as England’s Covid-19 hot spot
After that they stayed with relatives down south for a couple of days and then returned to the North East
They went round to an elderly relative to collect their dog
Then decided that they wanted to get away again so dropped the dog back at the elderly relative after only one day and promptly set off for two nights in EDINBURGH FFS:mad:
All this while Jimmy Krankie was shutting jockistans central belt due to the rising rate of COVID-19
Upon returning it was back to the elderly relative to collect the dog and then back home
Couple of days at home like they should’ve been and they developed symptoms
    NO SHIT SHERLOCK :mad::mad::mad:
    they both test positive
She is rushed to hospital the day after due to underlying health problems :(
He loses his sense of smell and his sense of taste :(
He is fighting cancer ffs but still they went and did all this

I am just about the last person to come out with a conspiracy theory....

However, it is a seriously bad thing if centuries of civil liberties go out the window and police surveillance comes in the back door. Capabilities take years to develop but our Masters and their intentions can change overnight. We have been stunningly supine about lockdowns that do not even provably make much, if any, difference. Meanwhile personal medical data is getting hoovered up by private businesses (pure gold to pharmaceuticals and insurance) and made available to State actors. This should ALL have been handled by local Public Health as has worked effectively since Spanish Flu. Not good.

And here were are accepting these changes for something less lethal than ‘bad flu’. The numbers don’t lie. As of this month, in the last 27 years this (2020) is ranked just 8th for excess loss of life. Not that the BBC would tell you. I applaud partying students. They create the herd immunity that ultimately protects me.......although we equally clearly have FAR greater population immunity out there than the lunatic modelling assumed.

    Every chance once you grasp:

The test is next to useless. It doesn’t necessarily detect an active infection but a whole host of other things besides. You can be a ‘case’ without being remotely unwell or capable of infecting other people (Call it ‘asymptomatic’ - that sounds medical and keep talking mysteriously about R numbers).

    Only hospitalisation and deaths matter.

That they indicate the pandemic has largely burnt through the susceptible population.

That massive face saving is taking place. The ‘experts’ credibility is on the line along with the profits of pharmaceuticals deprived of a vaccine market. Politicians can’t admit they were wrong/fooled so are playing it long in the hope of public gratitude/escape.

Just watch how seasonal flu and other respiratory problems become Covid in the numbers and all context is removed. OFCOM rules don’t even allow broadcasters to query the official narrative lest is be ‘harmful’. To whom?

We had a fright. Everybody got conned. Some people still are......

It will be interesting to compare the total deaths from all respiratory infections - influenza, pneumonia, SARS-COV-2, etc - in 2020 and future years with the total deaths from all respiratory infections in past years (even though the COVID-19 death total is, potentially, complete nonsense).

I'm not picking on you, dilli. I wouldn't want to forfeit that future drink.

I have cancer, take chemo both orally and through a port. I continue to live my life as I always have. I even continue travel as much as my schedule will allow. I do not live in fear and refuse to do so. Too many people are slaves to the fear of death to the point they shut themselves in and wear a stupid mask everywhere all because the government they make fun of for incompetence tells them to. If they don't trust government for anything else, why trust them with this?

Folks who have smoked all their lives without a care for their own health or anyone else's suddenly seem to care because they are scared and are told they should be -what a crock.

No point in being alive if you aren't going to live. I don't care if people shut themselves in and follow the government they claim not to trust like so many sheep. All I ask is for people and the government just to leave me to my own life and mind their own business as I mind my own.

If people believe masks work, they should wear one. If they claim it only works if we're both wearing one, they should wear one the right way and flip another over it wearing two and get the same effect. They complain about religious fanatics forcing their beliefs on them then try to force theirs on anyone that doesn't want to wear a mask -hypocrite much?

Sorry, should that have gone on the rant of the day thread? :p

A nurse sees a doctor walking down the corridor with something strange behind his ear; she looks and says to him 'Doctor, you have a suppository behind your ear'. He reaches up to feel and says 'Oh no, some bum has got my pencil !' .

Liverpool area cases have risen to 400 odd positive out of 100,000 tested. So, 0.4%. As a rough estimate, if you then said 10% of those become seriously ill (0.04% of the 100,000) and 10% of the 0.04% (0.004% of the 100,000) go on to die (unfortunately) then you get some measure of the dilemma facing us all. As always, that is not to diminish the suffering and hardship faced by those who deal with it and those who are suffering/have suffered from it. That is 400 people who will die with Covid and who tested positive in the preceding 28 days but not necessarily of it.

"Or it may be that people in older age groups, who make up the majority of these deaths, are choosing to stay at home" -Interesting choice of words . . .

    Hi Jtc,

Apologies if my joke was insensitive - was hoping that you would see beyond that.

Not at all, man. I don't see any insensitivity at all. I was trying to make a joke myself about people being forced to stay at home and it said, "choosing to stay home". You should know by now I'm no snowflake. :)
