Progress at last Dilli maybe there is a silver lining in thsi one I hope.

Just did a quick google seems Gabapentin is used for Epilepsy Dilli.
Its main side effect is a raging thirst for Alcohol but they recommend you don't drink!!
So its gonna have to be virtual drinking from now on just like this years freshhers are doing;)

Hey, dilli, I'm running behind on forum news and have been catching up this weekend. But have been wondering whether you'd gotten MRI results back yet so I was happy to see this post and know that you FINALLY know what the heck is causing you all the pain you've been in for so long. :grinning: I'm really sorry that it's serious problem but very glad that you found the source and can treat it accordingly. And also STOP what isn't working. Geez, after your and my physio experiences this year along with a number of other forum members who had bad experiences, too, I'm not likely to trust that group of professionals very readily anymore.

I will keep prayers going and fingers (and toes) crossed that the new--and correctly targeted--physio exercises along with the Gabapentin give you relief and set you on the road to healing. :kissing_heart: Please keep us posted. I'm eager to see you aboard that new Tiger of yours! :)

I started this thread on 3rd August
Bearing in mind that I’ve been going to the doctor for years before this asking for injections in my shoulders
I had a physio appointment on Wednesday morning and the physiotherapist said that they didn’t think they could do anything more for me :(
He would talk to the consultant and he would phone me in the afternoon to let me know the next course of action :)
Well it’s now Friday (Jack Daniels day)
    and NOTHING
So I phoned MSK Sunderland to find out what’s going on
I have now been told that they have referred me to the orthopaedics department with a view to giving me INJECTIONS  FFS:mad:
FECKIN YEARS IVE BEEN ASKING FOR THEM
Have been told that because of COVID-19 orthopaedics has only recently started up again and they’re playing catch up from MARCH :mad:
FFS:mad:once again I’m left waiting feck knows how long for someone to get in touch with me :sob:

T'other week my missus had just about had enough pain in her shoulder so she rang her doctors and asked for an injection and got it. Mind you she does have a track record of having injections in joints but this was the first in her shoulder. Might be worth a phone call on Monday.

Honestly Andy I don’t know what else I can do I’ve been asking for Feckin years and keep getting sent down the Feckin physio route that Never ever works
Dunno if it’s a postcode thing or not but I have time on my hands to see this through
If I get injections and it puts me right I may well look at getting a solicitor and going down the medical negligence route
But for the time being I have to play the game the way THEY say

I'd still phone your GP's surgery Monday, tell them where you're at and ask if you can have an injection. They can only say no.

You want to try where I live! My Doctor, the only doctor within ten miles, is a German and I swear his last job was at Bergen-Belsen but he was thrown out for not having a pleasant enough bedside manner.

my dad is currently in hospital following a massive stroke. Three days ago they suggested stopping giving him food and fluids and letting him die. He is not ready to stop fighting yet, and we told than that while he wants to try to recover they will damn well give him care. Basically they were trying to get us to agree to the ‘Liverpool Care Pathway’ (sedate them and let them die by withdrawing food and water)
This morning he had shuffled himself upright in his bed and was lifting his left arm and leg a little, and was writing in his board that he wanted a crap and a cigarette. :)
The NHS are the best healthcare in the world - according to the NHS.
I am looking at breaking him out to get him outside for a ciggy as soon as possible! It’ll give him the strength and motivation to fight through it. his morale took a boost when I smuggled in a tiny bit of his favourite wine to wet his lips with (he can’t swallow at the moment, so he couldn’t drink any, but he can still have the taste of it!).
