Powder coat not back yet, back wheel back on, chains mullered so need a replacement, new bars are on and just need positioning properly (take 2), looms had a good looking at. Exhausts staying off for a little longer till front ends complete etc so the cans don't get scratched whilst we're doing various bits.

Quadumph, these are the cones my mate got for the bike originally.

These are the ones I bought for my 1200 but when tightened up they kept popping off These were 4 for £25. Look pretty decent but just couldn`t get them to stay on carb mouth. Bit strange as they semed to clamp up tight then just after a while pop off. Might look into wider jubilee clips as the ones supp s-l1600.jpg lied are a bit skinny width wise

They look nice to be fair. I was going to go with a black set but couldn't see the point in spending the extra cash when these were free. We'll see in the future. Other bits to consider first.

Front end pics coming soon. Watch this space :eyes:

Well, progress... Liking the progress. Have to say my brother has done an awesome job. To quicken the build he's proper cracked on and come up with the full front end mock up. He's going to make this all out of aluminum now and a new clock mount, rear indicator brackets, number plate bracket... The beast is coming on. Loving the belly pan. Got final modding to do to that shape wise but all in all I'm pretty dam chuffed. Paint design also sorted... Oh, changing the bars out, 4th time lucky

    Progress report...

Not the most exciting pics but I'm genuinely very chuffed at how much thought and effort my bro's gone into to design some brackets... The finish on these are fantastic. Will be powder coated satin black for a stock appearance. Getting there...

He's defo gone the extra mile. He made templates up in card then mdf and then used his router to get the final shape spot on. He transferred this over onto the alloy and repeated. To get the holes absolutely bang on he used speaker spikes and screwed them into the frame and pushed the templates up against them. Skills... Defo takes pride in stuff he does which is nice. Hopefully more. Pics soon

    Bit more progress...

The belly pan shape is now finalised (no pic), plan for electrics are now in place.

Mudguard is now fitted, have to say that I'm really impressed at CRK products. Just the mudguard alone adds a lot to the bike for proportion. My plan was to initially cut it down a few inches and go minimal but the quality is just so good that plan was ditched as soon as I opened it.

    Getting there slowly.

Well after much conversation with my brother, a decision over the number board light was decided and the idea binned...

I always liked the twin headlight look from the early fighters and that look seemed to fit the bike the best, so here they are

Rear plate etc not back from the powder coaters yet but it's getting there. All fab work now completed, onto electrics next. Luckily a top pal has mine has offered his skills in that department so with a bit of luck the bike will be up and running again fairly soon.

Be interesting to see what you do with all the electrics at front of bike. A right snakes nest. Something I will have to tackle once got welding etc finished.

It'll be interesting for sure. Going to be a challenge to hide it all. I think there will be some head scratching going on for a bit. It'll have to be neat tho or I'll end up binning it off and starting from scratch which I really don't want to do. Odd design though, the yamaha and suzukis I've owned had the reverse so everything was tucked away under the seat instead of at the front. Don't suppose it was ever designed to have the fairing removed though. Watch this space o_O

I`m thinking of shortening and re-solder wires. If can use less chunky connectors were there isn`t a high power load . Switchgear wires might be able to be pulled back under tank or again shortened. be one of those times sit down with soldering iron next to bike shorten and resolder. Plus few Rum & Cokes ;)

    Progress...

    Looking like a bike again...

Loving the overall look, proportions are there etc and it's got the look of a 90s fighter... Pleased...

Just awaiting fixings from Germany so the belly pan can be fitted fully. Bro's done a top job, brackets looked superb when they came back from powder coaters.

    Couple of small bits...

Front indicator mounts. These were headlight fork mounts. They've been drilled out so the front indicators sit nicely under the head lights. Quite subtle.

Rear indicators we've utilised the original mounting holes. Thought it was a shame to fill these or have indicators hanging off the no. Plate.

New speedo is on as well as grips and the bar end mirrors. Think that's it for updates now till the fixings for the belly pan turn up.
