A 200 mile round trip to Northumberland and back for breakfast. No idea what the temperature was as my new bike doesn't have a guage but I could've done with my heated grips being there I ordered them when I ordered the bike but they weren't fitted when I picked it up, i'm told they'll be fitted at the first service. Fingers have just thawed out. Heard the wife say 'wuss' and 'age thing'......... she's probably right
Heated grips are a godsend,that was the first thing i got fitted on my bike..mind you it's better if you don't have to use them!
I have heated grips on my V-Strom and together with hand guards they do a reasonable job, but I agree with you, the one's I had on a naked Yamaha a few years back only warmed the palm of my hands, the outside's stayed cold. I bought Keis heated inner gloves (waste of money imo) and just last year their heated gloves but I can't get on with them, they're too bulky for my liking. I'm sure when Edinburgh Triumph pull their finger out and get my bike they way I ordered it i'll be happy.
i had a look at the heated gloves when i was at the Edinburgh bike show,but i wasn't keen on the cable that runs up the sleeves,it reminded me of the gloves i had as a kid!
Only got 5 sparks on the job today so cleaned the bike, got one of the Sparks to sort the number plate LED, ordered a relay to stop the fast flashing indicators, go meet an old army mucked of mine in aldershot and back into town to ace cafe
Spent the afternoon in the garage turning it into a Speed Triple touring. And before anyone ask's THERE WILL BE NO TOP BOX,it's just to extend the seat so I can get a bigger dry bag on.
Hi all, hope you have made the most of the sun today. Just a couple of questions if anyone can help. Had my scrambler for four months now and its got 500 miles on it now, when I start it from cold pull in the clutch and hit the start button the engine turns once and then a pause for about a second or two (still holding the clutch in) and then it will turn over and start. Normal or not?

Hi mate, it is common, but honestly it is an indication that you're not using it correctly. Always, always, use the start push-pull control on the LHS of the bike. It's clearly listed in your handbook. If you were using it but didn't mention it in your post then I apologise. It's just that lots of new owners think that if the weather and/or the engine is warm, you don't need to use the start control and that's not correct.

AS Big Lad Says, use the fast idle " chokey thing", My Bike, and most will be the same, even if stopped for a nano second, that wouldn't be a stall, OH NO! so with a warm engine, I have to use it half out, and once started I can push it back in pretty well straight away, a bit longer from cold and usually full out
220 round trip to N Wales with a few friends. Well 60 of us actually. Got there and back on one tank with 15 mile left on reserve. Great weather but horrendous traffic. Must have beaten the record for most cars overtaken.
