I saw a Trump hat that said, "Trump 2020 -Make Liberals Cry Again". :joy:

Your assessment is pretty accurate, DD. Especially if by "aren't fans" you mean hate him for no reason. It's a fun thing to ask someone to explain why they'll vote for Biden without mentioning the President's name.

At this point I'm just hoping for an election that isn't rigged or stolen (by either side) and that there are no riots after . . .

But, yeah, my money is on President Trump.

I honestly don't know because the polls mean nothing as the last presidential election proved and I haven't checked the Vegas odds.

Here's my opinion and I'm sure it'll bring out the haters: If the election is legal and done according to the law, President Trump will win by a fairly large margin. If the election is done fraudulently or sabotaged, Biden has a chance.

A bunch of absentee Trump ballots were already found in a trash bin.

And scarey that some of his opposition are calling for people not to accept the result, and for civil unrest, if he wins again. IMO it just demonstrates how evil many on the extreme left are, they have no respect for democracy, and no concern for the destruction of lives that those actions might cause.

Fun fact: Hillary has yet to concede and has urged Joe to do the same . . .

Perhaps best it we leave it to one of our members from the US. I don't want to tread on any more toes than I might have already.

    Hahaha Not me, man.

Though I have been awaiting the thread that gives odds on the next snowflake who will get his/her panties in a knot, storm out of the forum, and slam the door on his/her way out. o_O

I suspect you may be right, JtC. And it doesn't matter whether Trump remembers anything because he just says whatever comes to mind whether it's accurate or not. :joy::joy::joy: Geez, what a choice we have this November. :(

Corbyn lost the last election... not just Boris won it! He went from positive polling to negative in a couple of years. Starmer is suckling the teat of current countrywide trends (like bojo did with Brexit) and may well get the youth and SJW votes, but he seems to me that he’s lacking substance/convincing opposition (but I don’t really follow politics that deeply, so I’m happy to be corrected)
The current gov may of (and still be) handling Covid poorly with confusing rules & hypocrisy etc, but I feel it would have been a real shit show had Corbyn’s hand been on the tiller. (Ooh look, I brought the thread back to the original subject of covid... what a smartarse)

I'm looking forward to when we have enough data to see (a) how many died of Coronavirus (b) how many, who are vulnerable with other health conditions and would have died soon anyway, died with coronavirus (c) an investigation into how individuals/groups of people have come to think they can flout the law with impunity (irrespective of whether the rules are clear or not) and thus risk other peoples lives (d) an investigation into whether our society has dealt with this virus in a rational way - given the effects of cancelled routine treatments, out of workness, out of schoolness etc.

By virtue of the fact that we have so many voices opinionating on the subject, we collectively weaken our ability to make a single, concrete move. And because the legislature is so frightened of making the wrong move in the face of all those opinions we weasel our way forwards in a very inefficient way. We need somebody to say 'You caught partying in groups in public - right you can go to help in the COVID wards'. Maybe a temporary, benevolent dictatorship.

I think old Trumpy may just sneak it again because of the somewhat ga-ga alternative and his much more radical VP pick. I was particularly amused that Biden’s wife steers him from behind when he forgets social distancing, mask etc! Shy Trump supporters are out there aplenty.

BoJo? You can seriously underestimate the ruthlessness of the Conservative Party. Once the Brexit terms of departure are resolved he is hugely vulnerable. He has gone from hero to zero and the authoritarian style of incompetents like Hancock and Patel is going down like cold sick.

Covid? Be interesting to see the academic cat fight in the wake of yesterday’s Barrington declaration. We have a straight fight between hard evidence and forecasting, government funding and political influence plus some politicians looking for a face saving climb down with, I suspect, Big Pharma trying to keep their vaccine pot on the boil. Interesting times, as the Chinese saying goes.

Not sure about that but, all we need is a competent government with a strong majority in the house...

Plato knew he was describing a utopian ideal not the clay footed reality. Moreover, by philosopher, he meant a lover of wisdom and knowledge. Relatively few parliamentarians match that description!

I think you'll find that all dictatorships are benevolent if you ask them. That's not a road I'd like to go down.
