Beautiful winters day so I decided to test ride my latest mod - an aluminium chain guard. In the best cafe racer tradition it adds a bit of polished metal and a lot of lightening holes!
Here’s mine, had for a week now. This was on a 386mile day from London to Basingstoke, Hinckley, Stone Henge (stop in Thurxton Village) And back.
Dressed up for the twice weekly 2 1/2 hour each way commute the Airhawk on the stock seat is superb, and completely solved the sore jacksy problem I was having (tried comfort seat and a gel pad and although a bit better didn’t solve the discomfort) Also attached a Kriega US30 on the single seat and solid as a rock and no longer need to carry a rucksack with 10kg of junk!! This bike is becoming a great alrounder Finally arrived at destination after 2.5 hours 72 miles and a ten minute coffee and fag break note dayglo yellow disc lock, secure and hard to miss
Isn‘t it amazing, how different your TFC fairing looks in comparison to the standard ones? And it is only the paint-job! Not that I dislike mine, but it really looks like a different fairing... EDIT: Oh, I just saw that there seems to be a wind deflector on the top end as well...
The weathermen say its going to be 8 or 10 degrees cooler tomorrow so I had a run out on the Thruxton before the (relative) chill arrives.
