Trying to sort out clutter and sell of some surplus items. As part of that, built a workbench yesterday for fettling and whittling and providing storage space for carp underneath. In the meantime, spotted a SH Irwin Record No. 84 with quick release Vice on Gumtree which was got for a goodly price. Should be able to file my nails now. Just a rubbish thread trying to justify my existence. Although not visible, leg braces are fitted. Further bracing to be completed today.

In the USA it's spelled vise to avoid confusion, vise-grip pliers etc.

Yep. Too bad we didn't do that with other words; the medic wound the bandage around the wound. o_O

Probably a good idea ODA though I wonder whether it was a deliberate decision to change or, as with other words, simply the spelling that came into common use over there?

You are right DCS.....well spotted. It broke just as I got to Brighton in 1993 (or thereabouts) doing the London to Brighton bicycle ride. Has been languishing ever since but hopefully can put it back into use for my son(s).

Keep an eye on Pre-loved and Gumtree Duck.......a lot of peeps don't realise what they are getting rid of...get your wife to carry it to car though cos it can be a bit niggling for your back.

Given the age of a lot of the people here (this I ascertained in short order I must say) the drugs would likely be mainly statins, blood pressure meds and viagra :D

Moderately on topic if it's got a decent jaw depth it can break beads on tyres. I used to DIY rears on my gixxer (bald at 2000 miles, changed at 3000) as the balancing was 'meh' on a rear and was shedloads cheaper

Nah!! Don't do statins (bastid things!) but the alternative works ok, as do the bp tablets, warfarin and the beta blockers:). Some times I even have paracetamol as a pudding!:grinning: Yummy!!!:yum
