Hi all - I'm struggling at the moment to see how i can fit my Quadlock mount to the Truxton R handlebars. Has anyone done so successfully and - if so - can you share a photo? Any other (non-Quadlock) ideas & photos?

    Thanks in advance.

I don't have a Thruxton but could you use a quad lock headstock bolt kit?

Ah, that looks promising. Presumably I'd remove the existing/stock headstock bolt and just use the mount kit instead?

I haven't used this method but no doubt the quad lock site will provide the details that you require.

Well I got SP connect, german brand probably not as big company as quadlock but more minimalist...so I choose it as, A) I didn't want the blue colour of Quadlock and this looked similar system and had a mount better for my handlebars.

Thanks. I've now ascertained that I need a headstock bolt with a hole for a GPS mount... just need to source one now!

Nice, but won't fit the Thruxton (which has clip-on bars).

Thanks, but I'm already invested in Quadlock and - as they do a fork stem mount - I'll stick with them.

That said, if I was buying from scratch I'd be going with SP Connect.

ah apologies! maybe missed some posts here, glad you sorted your problem :) I don't know which one is better to be fair only went for SP as I didn't fancy the blue tag bit ( however since discovered they have in black) but was more bulky so still probably would have done SP anyway!

The main difference is that SP Connect have an anti-vibration thingy which supposedly stops the phone's inbuilt image stabilisation being fracked (I believe there have been some associated problems reported by Quadlock users.)

Quick update, but having swapped over the headstock nut I just fitted the Quadlock fork stem mount together with the new vibration dampener that they've released. It's a bit bulky because of the additional mass of the dampener, but all in all it's a good solution (and one that I need to be fitted, whatever the aesthetic impact).

Hopefully this thread might help others with the same query/requirement, anyway. Again, this is the headstock nut I used.
