Just wondering if anyone has used those panniers on a speed triple fitted with the high level Arrow exhausts,i read a post somewhere saying that the bar that goes over the end of the exhaust has to be heated then bent to fit.i've asked some suppliers but they coudn't say for sure.

Hi Dougie, I've got a pair of Givi Easylock panniers, might be worth considering? The frames pretty quick to fit and remove. I've just bought a pair of Arrow cans but haven't fitted them yet. I don't expect them to be a problem, think they sit in the same space as standard cans. I can post some photos of panniers and frame tomorrow when I fire up PC (just on phone now).

Also these don't use a strap over pillion seat, so can leave that nice cover on without damaging paint. Need pillion pegs fitted though. I usually have them (and pannier frame) removed.

Hi Richard did you have them fitted with your arrows on? I've searched all over the net and i saw a couple of posts saying they don't fit with the arrows on,i do have a mate who would probably be able to modify the rear bar to fit over the Arrow exhausts as they must sit a bit higher than the standard cans. I'm considering this as i do like the style and the fact you can remove framework in seconds.

Hi Dougie, as promised photos can be viewed here -
    panniers
They were taken last summer before it had hardly turned a wheel.
You've got me wondering now whether the Givi frame will clear the Arrows. Bike's been laid up over winter but hope to get out again in the next few weeks if we get some dry roads again. The plan is to get a few runs with the standard cans on so I can feel a comparison between standard and the new Arrow cans, not expecting to feel any real difference in power but I've been impressed with the smooth throttle connection and want to keep that. It seems some have kept the standard map and others the Arrow map, going by the map numbers the Arrow map must be quite a bit older than the latest standard map. I'll probably give both a try to see which I prefer (used TuneECU quite a bit before when I had a SprintST1050).
Once I've got the Arrows fitted I'll re-post whether it still clears, I think it will be ok 'cos the Givi version holds the panniers a bit further back, so I think the cross bar will be behind the cans and there looks to be a fair bit of clearance above.
Just noticed your avatar background.... so you've been to San Francisco too. :)
    Happy memories.

Cheers Col, yes it looks as though the Givi ones will fit,the blaze has a bar that goes over the standard cans and i think the Arrows are a bit higher at the back and there doesn't look as if there is much room to begin with, the Givis look as if they will hold more then the blaze also, i'll have to give them some serious thought.I've ordered the motech tank bag it comes with an attachment that bolts on to the fuel cap surround and it keeps the bag off the tank to avoid any scratches.i stayed in San Francisco for a couple of nights in 2010 when we did a road trip which included the Laguna Seca GP, would love to go back sometime. do you know what capacity the panniers are? i think the blaze are 25lr each

Details of the fitting frame is here
I just leave items 2 permanently fitted to the bike, all you can see is a stud sticking out either side of the number plate holder. If you're leaving the pillion pegs on it's probably only a 10 minute job to bolt on the frame.
    Pannier details here
Says they're 25ltr, but the video says 15ltr for 1 bag, so I guess that's 30ltr with the bag expanded.
Down side is the mounting gear in the back of the pannier obviously robs some of the internal space, you can see it in the video.
They're half way between a soft throw-over and a full hard pannier, closer to a throw-over being light and insecure. There's a rain jacket for heavy rain but I think they'd be ok through a light shower.

Cheers for that,i think the givis are probably 15ltr expanding to 25ltr each. they do look bigger than the blaze which i found out each pannier are only 14ltr expanding to 21ltr
I'm thinking a 30/40ltr tail piece might be a better/cheaper option for me now, as i will probably only be using it once or twice a year. The rest of the time the tank bag would be big enough..time for a bit of internet browsing i think!

I,ve went and ordered a tail bag instead of panniers, i reckon i will get more use from them, they are the Oxford 40ltr expandable tailpack oxf_x40tailpack_anth.jpg it holds just as much as the Blaze panniers, plus you can zip the bottom part off and it makes into a rucksack, along with my 24ltr expandable tank bag i reckon i'm sorted for a tour of europe!..just have to work on getting a load of brownie points from the wife!;)

Just fitted some sw bags and frame tonight. I have the arrow cans and the frame does just fit without modifications, just. There's about 2 to 3mm clearance between the bars and carbon end caps. The velcro strap across the top, if pulled tight, also helps to keep the bags and bar up away from the cans.

Cheers Robin, that's great news,do you find you have to press down harder now on the seat for it to lock? i've heard the metal bracket that fits under the seat can make it harder to click the seat into place

Ah yes there's that too. I have to give it a whack. I might releive the seat plastic or bracket but I don't really want to do either! Probably just end up living with it!

I put two thin washers under the latch mechanism to make my seat fit easier

That was my thought but does it affect whether the rubber stops sit on the frame as they should?

Not in my case, you should be fine as long as you don't use washers too thick. I still have to push down a bit, just not really hard like before.
