My domestic supervisor banned me from riding the Tiger for a couple of weeks after I strained my back putting on a pair of waterproof bike trousers. Today the back is sorted so I nipped out on an errand to the next village in the beautiful spring (I'm in the Adelaide hills) sunshine on the silver Tiger and it was so good to be back.
Today and next day no ride on the Triumph. The seat is at the upholstery for a change to please Madame next rides.
Front wheel back in Took a while as I gave the discs a deep clean and washed/cleaned everything as it went back together
Left hand calliper removed and stripped down ready for overhaul Pads are ready for a change so have ordered EBC HH Had enough for today so gonna have a shower then a nice cold beer before the sun disappears
Hugh, my T100, had his year three service today. As the warranty is no longer in force I went straight over to see my old fried Stewart who did a great job in checking him over and sorting the MoT test for me. Do I miss the Triumph dealer network? Nope. When I picked the bike up from the supplying dealer the clutch cable was so tight I got slip in top gear. Backed the cable off and it was fine but it got put back that way on both the first and second year services. Why? Stewart also found the front brake was not installed correctly and is sure the bolts had never come out, making me wonder if they'd even been looked at in the first two services... I made good use of the great weather and bedded in the pads on the long way home, happy that my servicing is now back in the hands of someone I trust!
I started a thread - Independent servicing near you. A list .... - a while back to help people locate trusted independent workshops around the country (any country!). I'm sure that Stewart would appreciate a bit of free publicity if listed there. Sounds like a good bloke. I'd add a direct link to it but as a fully paid up Luddite that is way beyond my capabilities!
