As part of preparations for Scotland tour (and something I've been meaning to do for ages) I fitted an SAE lead to battery and cabled tied other end under seat. Also modded my tyre inflater with an SAE lead to attach to it.

I had fitted Triumphs DIN/Hella accessory socket but it's fused at 5A whereas inflater draws about 7A. (I could probably get away with refusing it to 7.5A but not worth risking overheating the wiring loom.)

After doing all this it occurred to me that I could just have wired the Triumph accessory socket direct to battery as there on a foot apart.

Next constructive reply...........I always put my bike key and the disc lock key in the disc lock bag when I have fitted it, that way you are always reminded that you have fitted it.
Horse, stable door, I'll get my coat.

I felt like @JtC about white bikes until I bought my white Speed Triple RS. Now I'm with @Vulpes, I like mine in white. :) My Triumphs at least.

That said, not all white bikes are created equal. Mr. Sandi sat on a white BMW R1250RT a couple of months ago when we were at the beemer dealership with a friend. I teased him that he looked like a cop. :joy:

Looking like a police bike has it's advantages. I had a white BMW R100RS in the 80's and the police rode around on white BMW R100RT's. Now to the general non-biking public they look the same in their rear view mirrors, even though the police bikes are decorated with extra bright bits. So a lot of the cars used to make room for me when filtering (great for commuting in/around London) plus it was noticeable when catching a quicker car they would slow, I'd pass, then they'd speed up again, probably muttering duh....
It was obvious coming from a red BMW R100S as my previous.
In my defense though BMW only made a white or dayglo orange RS at the time and I didn't want orange.....

@Dawsy you have my utmost sympathy
However this may have been avoided had you had a dayglo yellow disc lock which you wouldn’t have missed:p

Had another run on the thruxton. Mandatory bacon butty and a cuppa to refuel on the way around.

Nice, but your bike looks way better than any supercar, IMHO, Koko.
