Erm!

 

I've seen videos of those things. They crack me up for some reason.

 

It would be funny to see it in action, JtC! Does the person revolve with the wheel or is it somehow designed to the "rider" stays upright?

 

As I understand it with those 'big wheel' things it's onboard computers that are supposed to speed up and slow it down in order to keep the rider/victim in the upright position but, if the electrickery fails or malfunctions then you are not only revolved but also screwed.

 

I ride a pedal unicycle, getting going no big deal. Rapid braking takes an extreme weight shift of a heavy human vs a 5 lb cycle

I go mountain biking; a few years ago I was climbing one of the off-road passes in Cumbria when I saw these strange shapes coming over the top of the pass. They were distant enough to look like fellow mtb’ers but somehow not right. I was pushing by now, the trail is very steep, rough and littered with loose rocks upto the size of footballs (soccer). The herd of boucing off-road unicylists (about 20 or so) came clattering past in an interesting display of determination beating stupidity... but every now and then, stupidity teamed up with physics and would remind a rider that the imposition on the laws of nature that they were currently taking the piss out of couldn’t be endured... here’s the floor! This would get great cheers and claps from my group of mtb’ers. It was awesome but a little unnerving to watch.

 

Ohh, imagine that was a golf club mortar ...

2X + 10 on a bike (unless it's a Harley) here in the states for corners until you find that holy shit they weren't joking corner.
