Hi everyone. I live in Surrey and just purchased a 2006 Triumph Tiger 955i. the bike has abouit 44000miles on it and is in pretty rough shape. not a lot of TLC over the years and been standing outdoors a while under a flimsy cover. overall, seems to go OK and everything works except the front brakes that at first were not working and now seem to be binding badly. it has now just had a de-grease and clean. I am not an experienced mechanic but hoping with the help from the smart people on this forum, to learn to fix most of what needs fixing myself. first task will be to research this problem on this forum
You probably have siezed pistons so would need a full brake overhaul new caliper seals etc may as well fit with some braided hoses and pads at the same time
sounds right. I serviced both calipers yesterday, lots of brake cleaner, and bled the brakes but hear a clack, clack sound when I ride and the brakes seem to lock pretty tight when standing. any threads that will help me with the re-build or should i leave it to a pro.?
Not a difficult job just take your time and make sure everything stays scrupulously clean You may find a YouTube vid
