Hopefully we'll get some dry roads and half descent weather soon....
When we do I'll be taking the Speedy (94R) for a quick blast to clear the cobwebs and check all is hunky dory. After which I've got a nice new pair of Arrow slip-ons to fit (that I've managed to acquire at a half reasonable price).
I'll probably be uploading the new map myself via TuneECU, used it several times before on previous bikes so no problems there, but I notice that the map for the Arrows (20521) must be quite a bit older than my present standard map (20656).
So a few questions for anybody out there with recent experience.... or do we have a map reading guru on the forum (the engine variety, not cartographic :)) that can enlighten me/us.
    • Is there a more recent map for the Arrows, anybody had theirs re-mapped recently by a dealer and know the number used?
    • Anybody tried both maps and have an opinion on their relative merits?
    • I'm guessing with the db killers fitted they're not going to have much effect on the engine anyway so may be run the standard tune?
    • But I'm hoping to take the db killers out (providing they're not TOO loud), so probably wise to run the Arrow map in that case?
As an aside, there is now a version of TuneECU that runs on Android, that version has the added feature of being able to remove the service nag (think you might have to connect via Bluetooth to use that). I haven't needed to use it yet as the bike will have to be dealer serviced until warranty runs out, but useful to know as I will self maintain thereafter.

There was a thread one one of the forums last year questioning if Tuneecu could be used on 2015 Speed Triples. It works perfect on my 2014 (bought new in 2015). May be worth a quick search.

Thanks Dave, but I'll be sticking to Triumph OEM maps, the custom maps are of unknown quality and not necessarily appropriate (none of those listed are for me).

Victor thanks for the info, as the map list said "From VIN # 499001 and upwards" I assumed they would be fine, but may be not from what was said on your link. I've emailed TuneECU to see if they can clarify the situation, sounds like I may have to get my (not very) local dealer to do the re-map, I don't want to brick the ECU!
I'd already read the current map from the ECU without problem, but I guess that's no guarantee of a successful upload.

Also a few more recent posts on TriumphRat.

So from the horses mouth, if you can connect you can write.
