The problem is you are making logical and rational decisions, something that is completely foreign to the insurance mafia. It's all about money and how much can be extracted from customers with nothing in return. Sounds like they have worked long and hard with your government regulating bodies to gain the authorization to be capricious and absolute, without fear of reprisal. The result of a social fixation on "safety", and government knows best.

Probably the thrashing taught it a lesson and the bike has now mended it's ways :)

Errm... I'm not consciously aware where it came from. As Duckadiledundee observed, reminiscent of

I got something similar for the car after I got charged 60 quid by dealer to tell me what was wrong. Tried it on bike and it didn't seem to know about it other than to give things like batter voltage and a small amount of other general info.

Been riding the Thruxton and Interceptor for the past few weeks, so today I got the tiger out. I had forgotten how good this bike is. It pulls like a train and is so comfortable, I love it

Plugged into my 2002 Speed Triple the other day with a similar device. If this one can read OBD2 Generic it will work. Flashing the CPU, however takes more than a handheld, and can be frightening. :eyes:

Very nice meeting with ‘The Duck’ today.
Didn’t think I’d have so much in common with a Duck, but I do.
    Thanks Duck,Ken.

Had the bike MOT'd today (which it passed, no problem) and then went for a little bimble around the local back roads (mostly). Stopped by Whitgift (pronounced Wiggift) church for a couple of piccies.
Can you spot the deliberate error when you look at the church? Shouldn't be too difficult really. Something in plain sight which is easily missed. Just askin'.

Are you talking about the XIII for 12 o'clock? Clock installed after WW1. Baker's dozen noon. Quite the mystery, it seems.

Indeed! I was told the back story years ago but couldn't remember it. Should have googled it!

Stumped me there. Lost in translation. Generic sounds cheap, but Universal sounds elegant and sweeping. I will bet you a beer it will work.
