First ride of the year, bloody cold but enjoyed it. Quick run to the dealers and had a sneaky look at the new Speed Triple, nice but don't think I'll be chopping mine in for one. Out again tomorrow as SWMBO is having a road test(not a Triumph though)
I had also planned to finally get out for a ride around this weekend but sods law man flu has struck. The wait goes on :-( :-(
Today I removed the wife's new Street Triple from its ornamental position in our front room and parked it in the garage in readiness to be ridden for the first time in the morning. After 8 weeks mending SWMBO is finally ready for her first ride after her little off.
Well I only collected my bike Friday , so full clean today, new rubber tomorrow and a full service and MOT Saturday!!
High beak fender looks good Steve. I've fitted a fender extender to the front guard and a basic radiator protector - 16 x 12" sheet of black anodised aluminium mesh. Only five by cable ties but it does the job and doesn't rattle!
Used to get there fairly regularly,my mate lived in Christchurch and it was half way for both of us.They do quite a good breakfast. Bugger's moved to Wisbeach so need a new meeting point now.
Since I got the bike about 18 months ago, I've always found my 2005 Speedmaster to be a slight stretch regarding the reach to the handlebars. Today I swapped the stock risers for the newer model Speedmaster risers. They lifted the bars and brought them back 2". They feel a lot more comfortable as I found that with the older stock risers, I was stretching a bit. Now the bars are more suited to me. The cables didn't need re-routing or replacing, but I would've like an extra inch on the throttle cables and front brake pipe, however they appear to be OK on full lock turning left and right. Comparison between old (silver) and new (black) Both new ones fitted Bars refitted
