Hi All, After nearly 45 years of motorcycling I finally ordered my first British Bike - a new Street Scrambler. I just chopped in my 1200GS as was struggling to get on and off - old age and all that!. I am based in Galashiels in the beautiful Scottish Borders, which really is motorcycling heaven. There's not a single dual-carriageway or motorway in all of the Scottish Borders - apart from a tiny stretch of the A1 over by Berwick.A lot of bikers by-pass the Borders (and Dumfries and Galloway) on their way to the Highlands and Islands - don't it's well worth stopping. No piccies of the bike yet as it will be a week or two before it's ready as Edinburgh Triumph's workshop is slaughtered at the moment. I had a test ride on Friday on a street twin and loved it. but plumped for the Scrambler with it more upright stance and can't wait to pick it up. Coming from a GS and a Pan European 1100 before that I'm used to having a screen - any recommendations for Scrambler? I also have the big 55 Litre Givi box - anybody fitted one of these on a Scrambler? Mike Dennison In Sunny Galashiels
Hi Mike I'm still quite new here myself and I can tell you it's a vibrant place, Must be something about Triumph owners! You're absolutely right about the Borders. Anyone who hasn't ridden the A701 from Moffat up to Edinburgh is definitely missing out. Anyway, welcome to the forum. Look forward to seeing the new Scrambler.
