For those who've decatted their T120, which is the preferred x pipe, TEC or MOTONE?

I'd go for whatever's cheapest, it's only a bit of welded metal tubing. :)

I've got a Street Twin fitted with the Motone X-pipe. I checked out the one from TEC and although I rate most of their gear (and have fitted various bits), invariably Motone products have the edge in terms of quality. If you research this forum you'll find a few complaints about the TEC X-pipe; someone even returned it for a refund. I don't think you'll find any complaints about Motone. So despite the slightly higher price I'd go for Motone.

If you check out the way the various companies build their X-pipes and why different shapes and diameters are used in construction, I think you'll find that some work better than others. Ease of fitment also varies and some are more robust. So it's not quite that straightforward.

From my experience with Motone parts (tail tidy, indicators + brackets, fuel cap, side panels) I reckon it'd be Waitrose. But yeah, TEC is Tesco's.

Anyone used the x-pipe marketed by British Customs? It seems to have a slightly different mounting system (minus the forward link to the frame). I'm not sure if that increases vibration or reduces weight (negligible of course), but I was wondering if there was anyone who'd given it a go or had any thoughts as compared to the TEC or Motone.

Triumph Newcastle recommended TEC for my Speed twin. They even fitted it for me and assured my warranty wouldn’t be affected :)

Motone, not their lite one, the one with fixings, excellent quality and unlike some they actually fit

Got Motone with all the fixings, my Triumph dealer recommended and fitted the Motone though they were happy for me to supply it, they said it was better quality. Good enough for me. Didnt effect the warranty.

Thanks. I have taken a tally, and the Motone seems to be the most recommended. I appreciate everyone's input!

Thanks for all the inputs, I actually went with the TEC pipe on recommendation from a friend, well satisfied.
