Welcome to the forum I posted details of the excellent Quad Lock system the other day - I'm using it with my iPhone X and have just bought a second handlebar mount so I can switch between bikes. Details here: https://www.thetriumphforum.com/thr...-–-ownership-thread.13318/page-40#post-321458
Many thanks MrTriple. After researching everyones suggestions I order the Quad Lock kit last night. I should receive it tomorrow and will post a quick review once I get it fitted. Much appreciated. This forum is awesome!
Welcome to a terrific forum with great members, Dash! I just saw this thread today so it looks like I'm late to the recommendation party. But I'll still throw in my two cents in case others look at this thread. I like the Mob Armor Claw Mount and have one on my bike. I don't have a photo of it on my bike but here's a photo of it from the web. They also make it with a magnet mount too. Comes in two sizes to fit different sized phones. I have an iPhone SE--yeah, people laugh at it but I love my "mini". So I have the small size. Hope that Quad Lock works great for you! Again, welcome aboard the Triumph Forum.
I agree, not kidding. Biking in the U.S. is dangerous enough that if I start looking at a phone I may not see a large "something" stopping or turning towards me.
Quote: "I use an Interphone phone case for my iPhone X, and it’s been great. I’ve made my own mount onto my Beemer and adapted the supplied mount to fit. It comes with an adjustable handlebar fixing." Hi Frek, I like what you've done. I've got an iphone 8 in an Interphone case and it's good. Better than spending £3-400 on a TomTom, now I've figured out the google navigation thing. The only thing I'd like to do is mount it in the centre of the bars as you've done. What bits and pieces have you used there? I can see you have screwed the standard bar mount top piece onto a spacer of some sort and you've got a plate mounted on the riser/bar clamps. I figured there must be something like that plate for the Speed Twin?
I've found a solution. I got some longer machine screws and the Interphone handlebar mount goes on the middle of the riser/handlebar clamp now. I used M5x30mm, although I got some 40mm ones just in case. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/POZI-PAN...hash=item364c41b445:m:mNR_OZ_PnFoa19JibeRTkww Happy now! I prefer symmetry and I can still see the clocks.
It’s a home made mount. I just fabricated a steel plate, drilled and tapped it and screwed the Interphone bar mount to it with a hard rubber block between. Can’t remember where the block came from I’m afraid. It’s basically just the top half of the bar mount with the ball mount on.
At first I tried a plastic one and it broke. Then I used one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Electric-Mot...phone+holder&qid=1567041666&s=gateway&sr=8-15 Has worked fine. I also attached a lanyard - just in case
Quad Lock have 30% off everything at the moment - I really like mine (see post #24) but now they are 30% better https://www.quadlockcase.co.uk/collections/shop-moto Discount code is at the top of their webpage, but it's QLBF19 should you miss it.
Just as a quick follow up, I decided on the Quadlock in the end and I'm very happy with it. Easy to fit, very solid mount and complete confidence that the phone is secure. I even bought the car mount, and likewise, it is secure with no bouncing or wobble. Thanks to all who gave suggestions.
Looks a good bit of kit, but I’ve just specced up what I’d want for my bike and it comes to nearly £175 That’s a lot of money for a phone mounting and charging system that doesn’t keep your phone waterproofed.
