Today I got a bee in my helmet :scream:

During the hot weather in May I took the chin curtain out of my Shoei GT Air to get more airflow, unfortunately, with an upright riding position that means that bugs that don't get splatted on my jacket get pushed up into the helmet, so I often have to flit the visor to let them out. Today's bee didn't sting me but, needless to say, I've now refitted the chin curtain!

Apart from the bugs, I had a good afternoon riding around country lanes, and several times unexpectedly found myself in 6th gear, which in 2 years of riding the Speedmaster I've never used. I put that down to the stiff tail wind on the outward part of my loop.

So glad to know that you didn’t get stung, brown mouse! Putting the chin curtain back in sounds like a wise decision.

That’s a beautiful photo of your bike and the landscape. Thanks for stopping, snapping, and sharing! Out of curiosity, what’s that growing in the field behind the fence? The scene reminds me somewhat of farmland in southern Minnesota where I grew up.

I suspect it is actually barley for brewing. Difficult to tell at the resolution posted!

Could be, I deleted the original images now. I was going from memory of seeing ears of cereal, and answered 'wheat' without really thinking that there are loads of types of cereal with similar appearance. I should have been more circumspect.

4th Dimension are not the best from what I have read..... They were going to collect my SV 650 a couple of years ago, I declined and arranged a local main dealer to take mine for repair, saying that I knew it was a write off by the state of it!!

Barley it is then I reckon. A bit hairy, and I remember it looking very flat and symmetrical left/right, like the chevrons on a 'sharp deviation of route' sign. So, barley for brewing? Mmmm, beer....
