After some scrimping and saving and mild raiding of the kids money boxes I have about a single one hundred pounds to spend on me and my bike. As ever there's a long list...but the most recent cogitation is a screen or a gear indicator or a comfortably cool textile vented summer jacket.

    Bike is a 2002 speed triple 955i.

Please let me know whet you think!

I selected the cool jacket for you as it will provide instant pleasure and more bike riding.

Both a gear indicator and screen involve work before use, so rejected them.

And rejected 'something else' because £100 doesn't go very far on drugs and hookers these days!

There are some parts of this town where I could get both drugs and hookers...and still have change for a a tank of fuel!

I voted for the screen. I have a vented jackket and it doesn't help much. That may be due to temps in the mid to high ninetys

    • I chose a gear indicator - useful on every ride in all weathers :)
    • The jacket would only get used a handful of times & should the unthinkable happen then leather fairs better than textile.
    • Speed Triples are naked bikes therefore don't need a screen
    • And, as has already been covered £100 doesn't buy you much of anything else! :p

After some consideration I went for the gear indicator. I wouldn’t have a clue what a hooker costs, but as everybody says ‘anything else’ is a bit wasted. Textile jacket is nice, but might be difficult to find a good one for that dosh. First time I have ever had a gear indicator is on my Striple and I do find it pretty useful. Whatever you choose, enjoy it :)

Why do you have to ask ? I don't need advice when I spend money. ...J.D.

Afterthought a few minutes later : A real man does not steal from his kids or need to ask his wife for permission to spend money...

    @Bad Billy

Having fallen off (the unthinkable) a few times in my ~40 yes of riding. In both leather and textile jackets A good textile jacket far far far Out performed any leather jackets I've owned !!!

One textile full body wet weather suit didn't even get scuff marks on it from a 50 mph 80 kph fall in the wet ! Leathers on the other hand have ALL ended up scuffed and Even Holy ! On occasion !

I think, if you'd read any of my other threads you'd soon realise that even if I had a marketing lead, I'd soon be asking which end to connect first!

It was merely a bit of fun, nothing nefarious, just fun... When I do grow up and if I become a real man...I hope I'll still know how to have fun ;)

I voted something else. Buy an optimizer to keep your battery in tip top condition and what is left invest in some beer

DanielB: Don't mind me. I have kind of a thing about the marketing segment. Kind of like killing ants. You keep spraying even after the last one is dead. Just one of my wierd quirks. :) ...J.D.

Wife and I have been together from the beginning [almost 48 yrs.], but I am definitely the dominate one. I was a hired [tech] gun for the corporate world for almost 30 yrs. Makes you kind of a wierd person working punching a time clock in environment. ...J.D.

Spent my extra "shekels" this week on a new UPS system for my home computer network. Now if the power goes out, I can stay online ;) .Actually have not got it yet. It is in transit. ...J.D.
