Totally agree, I wasn't suggesting it's a good thing. I'm pretty healthy but I still take care, which is more than I can say for a lot of people.

    There’s a lot who’ve died without underlying conditions :(

If peeps don’t want to abide by the rules/guidelines expect another spike, look what’s happening in part of Germany.

The wife and I have been pretty much in isolation since March 13th. We decided to go to our weekend home Friday to do a liittle cleanup and get some air. People are out ripping around in groups. Went by the lake and it was party time there. It is 1:35am as we speak and there is music playing a couple of blocks away. Party tell you die folks ! Stupid people ! ...J.D.

It’s not about them being concerned Wether they catch it or not it’s the total lack of concern as to wether they might pass it on To someone else that pisses me off!

Is it just me, or do those 40 and under generation have a particularly bad attitude about those older than they are ? ...J.D.

If by "bad attitude", JD, you mean unwilling to do anything that inconveniences them in order to be mindful of the health and rights of others, then no, it's not only you. I agree. I guess they are too young to realize that one day they will be older too.

It's happening in parts of the U.S., too, Tiglet. And right here in Arizona and in Pima County, the county where I live. WAY too close to home.:sob: Same thing, though, people don't abide by the recommendations--now rules as of Saturday (a little too little and a lot too late). And this article in our Sunday newspaper shows the consequences.

That’s how Mrs Freck and I are playing it. Only go out for essentials (and to work)if we can’t get them delivered.
The only non essential ventures out we’ve made are for a ride out on the new bike, stopping only for fuel or where there’s no other people. :)

This pretty much reflects the attutude these days. People do not just disagree with you. If you are not within thier parameters they get hateful !
Politically, the "right" hate the "left" and the other way round. The races have a mortal hate for one another ! The religious are hated by the agnostic or atheist. Just goes on and on. I will admit I am not too fond of certain groups, but they have a right to live and breathe. AND be safe. Hate solves nothing. WOW ! What a world . ...J.D.

Thanks @Smilinjack thats interesting, we’re just starting to look at getting everyone back into the office, and how we can do it and indeed when.
One of my colleagues sent this link across which to be honest we were putting a fair bit of weight behind!
Will do more research on independent SAGE:)

Just done more research on them - formed 5th May due to concerns Dominic Cummings was influencing the meetings of SAGE - the panel members certainly have academic credibility, so I think another opinion to bear in mind - I guess we can say if these guys opinions are the same as Government opinion, it’s probably right:no_mouth:

Mr. Sandi and I are wondering about "getting everyone back into the office". We both work in the K-12 school systems and can't imagine what in the world schools will look like in a couple of months.

I read the independentsage document with great interest. The italicized section below stood out to me because of my experience yesterday at the Ford dealership. It exemplifies one of the many problems with consistency of implementation and other variables that impact a hard and fast social distancing rule. It's also interesting what people in the U.S. (under)estimate to be 6 feet. My hubby said that shouldn't be a surprise because men have been overestimating 6 inches for years. :joy:

"Until there is evidence that infections have dropped to much fewer than 1,000 cases a day, it says it is not safe in indoor spaces particularly in restaurants, bars, or workplaces where it notes, people tend to lean toward each other when they speak."

While at the Ford dealership I was speaking with one of the employees, Irving, whom I've gotten to know a bit since purchasing my Mustang. Irving is a very personable and helpful young man who is also a motorcyclist so we have that in common (Indians). He and all of the employees were wearing masks and Irving was additionally wearing a badge that said "Please Maintain 6 Feet". But he kept moving towards me throughout our conversation even as I'd move backwards with each step towards me that he took. Maybe it's a new dance step--The Social Distancing Swing.

So true Sandy, it’s very difficult unlearning social niceties, and how on earth can you plan for them? We have an office for 20 staff plus kitchen and breakout/games area, a couple of weeks ago 2 of us went in and within 30 seconds we’d broken the 2 meter rule just walking around between desks - we both wondered how do we maintain social distancing with 4,6, 8, 10 people!!
And the biggest problem will be how do we manage the toilets?? Two cubicles for 20 of us, normally no problem, but do we have to specially disinfect after each visit? Absolute headache thinking about this....

I can't "unsee" that vivid image now, Smilinjack. It is a useful and memorable one, though. :worried:

Oh, my, Nick. That all sounds so overwhelming. And those specifics for your office of adults makes me even more concerned about how to manage social distancing and other COVID protocols with KIDS in the mix. Yikes. :p Best of luck figuring out your office safety planning. :kissing:
