Ooh! Just spotted you’ve got one of those Bell 500 helmets in the fancy green paint job.
I really liked that but couldn’t get hold of one

Just keep looking as they are out there, all of our helmets have been won for pennies over time :)

    Dog watch at two bells.
    Inertia slows the workman.
Light wanders in through streaked windows.
The dust hangs like gauze sepia.

    Offices are blank.
    Closed doors and dark lamps.
    A lonely beaver whittles on.
I retrieve my gear in silence.

    Dry heat from tarmac.
    Our star radiates steep angles
The next shift, aimless, wanders in.
    Lucifer waits.

The cool air streams across me.
    RS sets the tone.
    Sodden drivers on cell.
    Oblivious to creation.

Across the stream and up the hill.
Take the clear left with rocks skipping.
    Open it up.
Blow the angst onto the slipstream.

    My ride home from work.

Love the poem, love the bike but does it say 'Grinder carpets' on the shop sign?

"Grunder", among other random services. A very small village, this. ;)
I see this place often, but rarely open for business. I guess you have to know somebody...:eyes:

This thread was overdue a philosophical/philological point......

The expression the ‘exception that proves the rule’ is universally misused. It does NOT mean that an exception proves the truth of the rule. It simply means that by recognising an exception you are actually acknowledging there IS a rule in the first place.

    Yeah, I thought so too.......

We so rarely see rain here we intentionally go for a ride in it to celebrate it.

I'd probably be tired of it if that were the case. I sure wouldn't mind visiting someday, though. Try as I did I could never get an assignment in the UK or even Europe for that matter. I spent my overseas years in Japan and Saudi Arabia.
