Make sure you get your tea and biscuits afterwards - the only reason I used to go:)

Wow ! Had a chat with my wacky neighbor over the fence last night. Had not talked to this guy in a few months. He went off into a rant on how the whole virus thing is a hoax designed [by who he did not say] to raise all the prices on food and fuel. I countered with something like "the number of deaths indicates to me it is real". Then he tells me if you go to hospital you will come back with a diagnosis of Covid-19 no matter what your real problem is. Now you see why we do not talk that often. It started out I was just visiting his dogs through the fence. THAT conversation was going well until Daniel showed up :( ...J.D.

On a slightly serious note just before I head to the hospital, has anybody else on here had the virus and if so have you been contacted by NHS? :)

Were the symptoms a dry wit and an acid tongue perchance?

The "experts" are including everything as a possible symptom, just to cover their sorry arses.

I hadn’t realised you’d tested positive @Bad Billy. Glad to see you’ve come through it alright. :)

I'm 95% sure I had the virus but it was, thankfully, a very high temperature; lethargy (well, more than my usual lethargy!!) and most telling of all a sudden and COMPLETE loss of the senses of smell and taste! That particular symptom lasted two weeks - the others a few days!

I've been trying to give blood and plasma for the last 3 months but, unfortunately, as I'm now 70 they refuse to take it. I've been a regular blood donor for over 40 years and, being reasonably fit and healthy, am more than a bit peeved that they can't see beyond the bald statistic of my age! Maybe I should 'phone again.

    Rant over.

Well that was different to what I was expecting, thought they just took a pint or so blood & that was that, I can hear the laughter of the blood donor regulars as I type!

They hooked me up to a machine for about 35-40 mins which basically draws out blood, then uses centrifugal force to separate the plasma before pumping the rest back in, then repeat, not a painful or unpleasant experience (Lying tw@t @dilligaf !) and was told my body would replace what was taken within 36-48 hrs.

I know you lot like pictures so I got the nurse to take one, the top right is the bag full of plasma (I know it looks like a bag full of hangover wee :joy:).

Cheers @freck - Me & my wife had it at the end of April/early May, not pleasant to say the least! :cold_sweat: But managed to stay out of hospital despite having breathing difficulties of a couple of days. :)
