Hello to all - I have a 2001 bonneville which I bought late last year and have carried out some improvement work. I have found that it doesn’t feel quite right in the handling department and thought that the front wheel might be slightly buckled. I jacked up the front end to spin the wheel and check whether it was running true and it’s pretty good but what I did discover is that the steering seems to have a resting point in the straight ahead position - it’s like a notch in the bearing race that you can feel when the handlebars are turned through their full arc.
I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue? Presume this may be the cause of the odd handling and that I need to replace the top and bottom bearings ...
