Interesting decision to fit progressive springs to your Speed Twin. Although I don't own one, from what I've read I would class the Speed as a sporty ride. Does it come with progressive or linear springs as standard? I guess I could google it.
There's a lot of debate about whether progressive or linear work best on a sport-orientated bike. The current consensus from suspension experts is that linear springs do a better job. If you look into the science behind their wisdom it does make sense (I'm not going to bore you with it here, check it out for yourselves).

You had me in a panic for a moment. Had my front forks fitted with KTEC cartridges and couldn't remember seeing the original springs in the box. They are linear and not particularly long which is why I overlooked them.

Is it then wise to assume that progressive springs would do a better job on the street twin?

Just google progressive vs linear and a mountain of info comes up. As far as I'm aware the well-known suspension guys, such as K-Tech, Nitron, Maxton, recommend linear springs for a sports-orientated bike. You could always email them the question. It's going to come down to personal taste and how and where you ride your bike.
I've talked to George Milburn at TEC Parts about this and he says the Street Twin (yes, I mean Street not Speed) benefits from a switch to progressive springs. He didn't mention the Speed Twin.
