Do any of you guys and dolls wear different (colour) apparel in this heat (talking UK at the moment - two days or more of sunshine here constitutes a drought, means a ban on hoses and starts a feeding frenzy for the press about water leakages)?

Am asking as the black gear I currently have leaves me with an indoor swimming pool by the time I get to the beer shop. Open the zip and present the till person with an apparent incontinence - do your dare wear white? Well do you? Do you?

Well cheers, Privateer. I thought I had it cracked by buying gear that you can open ventilation zips in but, boy, does it get hot! And need something like you suggest. When you say mash jacket - is that some kind of potato? I'll have a look online straight away.

Get a MESH jacket, not a mash one!! I have a Richa leather and mesh jacket and trousers which have detachable gore-tex and thermal liners so suitable for most conditions except mid winter, lovely cool breeze through trousers and jacket, mind you it still gets pretty warm queueing to get into a shop!

Another vote for the mesh and leather jacket from me. It has been brilliant the past few weeks. It is black but that's ok with me.
Have a pair of summer trousers, which were a beige colour originally but even after a 30 minute ride they come back filthy with dust. Have now dyed them black! 20200601_185515.jpg

Ordered a dark brown mesh jacket from SBS arrived Friday so only used it twice. So far happy, need a long sleeve top for the morning run to work but hell of a lot cooler that me black waxed cotton padded jacket. Quite nice riding back this afternoon and still feel quite secure in it.

Link below and got a price match or £92.

Agree with the suggestion of mesh gear - it's a life-changer in hot weather. I wear a Rev'It Eclipse jacket, which is relatively inexpensive and super-efficient at providing plenty of ventilation whilst riding. Comes in a few different colours, too.

I tried the Knox mesh shirt on at the motorcycle show. Seems like a good idea, but not sure if it would be all that much benefit in the heat, which is why I was looking. I would want long sleeves under it for any length of time. It's not very comfortable against skin. At least when new, maybe you get used to it

Dare to wear White , I did ! A Tailor Made White Leather Jacket in my mid twenties ! I had a White Nolan Helmet , as I couldn't get Silver Leather in the early 80's .. I had a Silver Laverda RGS1000 from new in 1983 , I was in Sunny Southern QLD with all the humidity that implies. Was much cooler than my biker mates in their Marlon Brando black leather jacket's .
