    Hi All,

New member as I've just ordered a new Speed Triple 1050S, (white with quick shifter).
Bike is arriving in a week or so and I want to change the standard exhaust for a low, single sided pipe with more noise.
I've been struggling to find many options for the 2018+ model but loads for the previous bikes.
Ideally I want something like this but Scorpion can't confirm whether this will fit 2018+ bikes :
    https://www.ghostbikes.com/9952-sco..._7mo4dX9p2yKYoAdV30w5uDc4q-01AZUaAi2cEALw_wcB

Does anyone know if there were changes to the new bike that would prevent this from fitting ?
Also anyone know any other low mount, single sided options for these bikes ?

    Thanks in advance !

Hi Jez, welcome. There are other threads with exhausts mentioned.
The 2018 bikes have a different pipe size for the silencer to any previous models
so it has to be specific to the 2018/9 S3 S / RS.

SC do a selection as do Austin Racing and you can get a more basic cheaper arrangement from SP engineering. I recommend you use the search facility on here for the Speed triple RS exhaust. There is also a good thread on development of parts for the new Speed Triple RS.
Enjoy your bike - good choice !

Thanks for recommending my thread @RSReggie :)

    Welcome Jez!

There's not that much choice at the moment and as Reggie says, you need to be careful because the 2018+ fitment is different to earlier models. Specifically, if you're buying a low exhaust, the link pipe will be different (it needs to be longer).

Your choice is going to be down to a) the look you want and b) how much you're prepared to spend.

On the costlier side, SC project have just launched their products (their S1 can looks gorgeous), but I personally favour Austin Racing's 'no bracket' design which (to me) looks really clean. AR are very high quality (and even higher cost), but british made...which might matter to some ;)

You can always find somewhere to make you a link pipe if you're looking to adapt something not designed for your model year...if you have the time and energy to follow that up.

Be aware that a short exhaust will change the riding characteristics from both an engine performance and riding characteristic perspective. Taking 7.6kg in weight of the back (including pillion pegs) is just going to alter how it handles. You therefore should consider getting the suspension tuned and perhaps a remap.

My bike was running lean - and has since been transformed by a remap from Hilltop Motorcycles.

All this info is buried in my thread, so use the hyperlinks at the beginning to jump to the bits worth reading :D

Thanks guys, this has been really helpful.
Some good options out there from AR and SC.
Really like the look of the SC S1 GP :
    https://shop.sc-project.com/en-GB/3518_T22-T43T-S1-GP-Muffler.htm
Lots of weight saving and it’s got a DB killer for longer rides.
The CRT looks good but 107db and no noise killer might be a bit too much !!
Also really enjoying working my way through the RS ownership thread. Very informative but could also work out detrimental to my wallet !!

    That looks really good !!
I’ve ordered the S1 GP, my bike arrives in 2 weeks so hoping it turns up around the same time
How does the bike run now it is fitted ?
Any loss of torque or have you had it mapped ?

Congrats on the new bike, it runs absolutely fine, no loss of torque I can feel, it makes a epic noise now and saves a huge amount of weight

Good to hear your bike is running well with the SC pipe, I really can’t wait to get mine here and fitted.

Thanks Joe, it’s going to be a long 2 weeks !!

    Strongly considering this myself

Could you speak to the changes in handling?

-Did it change the seat height or angle at all ( I had the suspension tweaked to soften the road and really to drop the back relative to the front a tad to get a more neutral saddle position vs the standard forward cant)

    - Flickability / COG

    - noticeable heat on your boot?

    - Stability

    - Vibration changes

Also, you think a power commander would be adequate? What did you lose that required a retune?

Lastly, how much louder is the SC1 with baffles IN vs stock arrow cans?

I love the sound, but was always a bit self conscious leaving for work at 5am with the SC pipes on my old street triple.

But yeah - great sound, and although I like the twin pipes, I love the looks of that SC-1 and I sure woudlnt mind shedding a few pounds (to counter my own weight gain I supposed)

    Thank you much

    Thank you :)

The carbon heat shield is from Jacques at CarbonFBR - I can't see it on his website, but I'm sure he has them, because @Trippy Tripple has just fitted one. Mine is plain weave to match the original Triumph carbon parts; Trippy's is twill weave (I think), because he doesn't have match-matchy OCD like me. Post a pic Trippy :p

Take care to get the correct version as the 2016 and 2018 Speed Triples are different down there. Mine is actually a 2016 version, that I modified to fit my 2018. Details here: https://www.thetriumphforum.com/threads/2018-speed-triple-rs-–-ownership-thread.13318/page-13#post-228922

    Agreed on both counts.

Fantastic photos (love the Leadenhall Street one). That twill weave is beautiful...it looks so much more...well, carbon. I'd stopped adding more bits, although maybe I need heel guards to finish it off? :)

Here's a photo from when she had the Arrows fitted...if there was one bit that I'd fit first, it's the tail light surround. Also from CarbonFBR. You know it makes sense.

I've set myself off again over the mismatched twill of those exhaust caps o_O

    Stunning bikes guys:cool:

I'm going to order the heat shield and heel guards.

I think i prefer the twill weave but my OCD is strong and may have to go with the Triumph matching plain weave
