Didn't the EE Lightning hold records for fastest rate of climb at one time - maybe still?

I rode the Street Scrambler for the first time in months, and the first time with the A9708509 accessory seat.

Looks the part but the very firm foam makes the bike far less comfortable than with the original 2-piece seat.

Real shame and I think I'll go back to the 2-piece when I get the chance to wave the spanners.

First weekend of level 2, so travel out of Auckland was allowed. Saw many bikes out in groups doing the Coromandle loop, even with some rain. Quick photo stop at Tairua estuary, with a shot across the water to Pauanui.

Great picture. Not exactly a "pretty" aircraft but it is astonishingly, brutally handsome - and effective.

Washed both the Explorer and the T595 last night as a mate wanted to go for a ride today as the rules have relaxed a little on lockdown, Couldn't get the T595 to fire (old acid battery) even though on trickle charger all the time. So got the Explorer ready only to hear my mate put his back out last night and cancelled the ride at 7am this morning so ride cancelled :sob: At least the beasts are ready for a ride out on the next occasion (Explorer my daily work commute), once I get a new Gel battery for the T595 :D

Are you scared to go out on your own then or is it that you need a carer? :joy:

Very nice Wim, but is it just me or is it a bit ‘wonky’?

I suppose it appears that way because of the camera angle... the real thing is straight!

Nice looking village, it looks a bit like one of those they use in Midsomer murders. ;) Talking of murders I could murder some of those MAMIL's you refer too. Many are considerate and polite but some are just t**ts!

Decided to rewire the Satnav from a unswitched live feed (battery) to a switched feed on my genIII Tiger 800. Was never happy with unswitched feed.

On the earlier Tiger 800’s I’d piggybacked the live feed off the horns live feed and earthed via the horns mounting to chassis bolt which gave a switched feed to my Satnav :)

On the GenIII model the Satnav won’t work using the horn live feed :(

I don’t like splicing into the existing wiring loom so looked for another option.

On the Tiger 800 forum someone had questioned what the underseat white socket was for,it has six wires entering but the outlet plug is blanked off.

    9267EA73-A53F-431C-97CD-176C3C4659F4.jpeg

With the blanking plug removed after testing it was found by those clever people on the T800 forum that the terminals were 12v switched, 12v unswitched +Canbus and someone had wired their Satnav using the 12v switched terminal :):)

As I didn’t want to use the oem plug, wanted to save that for when I sell the bike and I remove the satnav, it will be just a case of plugging the blank plug back in and the wiring will be back to oem.
Ordered parts,a Sumitomo 6 way connector plug,2 female spades,2 rubber seals with holes for fitting on Satnav wires and 4 blanking seals/plugs.

    C7C67023-9CC4-46EE-8879-EABE6C6C8ACB.jpeg

Simples job of sliding 2 wires through the rubber seals with holes and solder/crimp on the female spades.

    6EC7EF49-34D5-4D6F-8C96-B80E06C45604.jpeg

Push the spades/wire into the correct slot ensuring they’re locked in and slide the rubber seal down the wire into the back of the plug. Also fit the 4 rubber blank seals into the remaining 4 holes.

Carefully push the plug into the socket and bingo a switched feed to my Satnav :)
