    Yes, 12th May is the day chosen to highlight/celebrate what Nurses do....... in case you forgot


    International Nurses' Day is celebrated around the world each year on 12 May, the anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birth. This year in particular it’s an extra special occasion because not only does it fall during International Year of the Nurse and Midwife, it also marks the 200th anniversary of Nightingale’s birth.

    Ordinarily this would be a time for mass celebration, but as nursing staff across the world stand united in responding to the global COVID-19 pandemic, we must use today to shine a light on the remarkable work all health and care staff are doing for the entire nation.

    I believe that there is a movement to get people to shine a torch through a window in your property at 20.30hr tonight as a celebration to nurses.
    Florence Nightingale was known as 'the lady with the lamp'.

    Yes peeps I got my light shining. Will leave it on all night. I saw it on tv this morning. And being married to a nurse well a sister she tells me of for calling her a nurse. I am so happy now she has been isolated due to our Son. But I it worried me sick when she was out there in the community. I sat here listening to her on the phone just before and they were asking her to attend a covid patient it scared me stiff. I think these people are so very heroic and not because of my Darling Wife. I nosey into her phone calls sometimes and know the other party is crying for what reason she never tells me. But they are human you know. I love them all and the carers and the whole NHS.
