I actually misspelled that mate, should be "slot Zeist". It was originally built as a country house in the 16th century. It's now used for weddings and such.
When I bought my latest Tiger 800 a GenIII model I had fitted as part of the deal an E Scotoiler which is brilliant. The only thing being was that the small control box was mounted on the handlebars which I never liked so I’ve made a new small bracket out of 1.6 thick mild steel plate and fixed it to the lower left side of the TFT screen. The top bracket is the original which was attached to the clutch lever clamp. Lower bracket is the new fabricated one. Control box fitted to new position.
Having more fun with the Daytona! I think coils are past it? Ive posted in technical help for an Electrics Guru`s advice on these. Had the carbs off yet again but they are spotless & delivering fuel.
I've been doing smiles on my bike this week...I went for a couple of rides (to take an old lady some milk). She is hot to trot and eager to please! (The bike, not the little old lady ) (As far as I know)
Duck, all things considered, the lack of resources, availability of parts, challenges you encountered, etc. I salute you and think you’ve done well. Take it easy when you do go for a ride and give it another once over prior. There’s absolutely no rush and your safety is first priority. Would have liked to join you for a coffee when you have that breakfast finally. Cheers !
Aaaah, I really needed that Today I've been doing something with my Triumph \o/ After dusting my Speedmaster off (literally) and checking it over I went for a ride for the first time in 50 days. The first hour of pootling along country lanes at 40, with fluffy white clouds in a blue sky was totally euphoric. Bike sounded great, more rumbly than I remember, and cornering and breaking felt smooth and sure, bliss It turned a bit grey and was I was starting to get cold, so headed home for lunch. As I felt confident of me, bike and roads I resumed after lunch with my wife as pillion. First time in 50 days we'd done anything other than venture out on foot from home; a bit more sun and it would have been a perfect day. We should have been in the Scottish Higlands now, finger crossed we'll get to do that in September...
Went out on the tiger for a couple of hours. Cool rather than cold, never the less it was good to get some miles on the bike.
back brake rebuilt with s/s pistons new braided brake line waiting for new water pump seal set then i can go 5klms from home for a much over due spin
Good to see you and the bike are ready to rock & roll, take it easy out there and enjoy a slap up meal just because you can
Another day cruising amongst the clouds. Not just the ones in the sky, but those formed by blossom in the trees and the clouds of cow parsley flowers in the verges. Felt like the day would go on forever, but after 6 hours my back and legs were glad to be home. Wonder if I should put the original beach bars back on the Speedmaster and get some highway pegs Must say, relaxed riding on empty country lanes does wonders for fuel economy, got 68mpg today when 'normal' is 58.
