Picked up my Speed Twin from Pattaya Triumph - first service (Motul 15w50); rear brake rotor replaced; Ohlins rear shocks fitted; scratches removed from frame. Took it for a wash, got it home and spent an enjoyable 3 hours detailing and polishing it while drinking Heineken near beer and listening to some good music.

I got my Striple partly stripped down today. Removed the nasty air filter and ordered a new one. Cannot believe it was screwed down with six screws and meant I had to remove the tank to get it out!

Polished the plastics and tomorrow will continue with the clean up. Love it.

Put those on my Speed Triple last year. Really like the performance. Stable as the Rock of Gibraltar. I bought my from the shop that installed. $130 was labor. They charge standard labor rate for tires brought in, which ends up more.

Today, I’ve been mainly fitting luggage rack, pannier and tank bag as a rehearsal for a trip to Cornwall in four weeks, fingers crossed

I've started to proper get into vehicle detailing, I know it's a new bike but I wanted to see if I could make the paint work better.
    Thunderbird tank and the Audi.
    All look absolutely amazing.

Well at least no blown fuses. I see you got the little bulbs pointing the right way. In the other configuration, the pattern would have been a fright. Make sure you point those big globes right into the oncoming traffic. The other drivers will appreciate it.

Been driving Lucifer into work these cold mornings. Not many others out. Factory is pretty deserted anyway, with most on layoff. I do like the color on that hog.

Been cleaning gunk out of the front sprocket cover and getting the chain cleaned up a bit. Not impressed with previous owners' maintenance effort. Could do better.

Hey ho! Took the covers off the T’bird looking to put it back together and take a restock of what needs doing! Managed to drop the pressure tube down the fork leg then drain the forks of oil, one by mistake as I was trying to not repeat the pressure tube moment and the other was an oh f#*k it moment! Took the springs and internals out and recovered the tube. Have everything a good clean up then put them back together again. Thought I’d check the front brake shoes while I was at it! Grrrr! Anchor plate nut has either welded itself to the spindle or it’s cross threaded. Tried DD’s nut removal concoction, heated it, kicked it, swore at it, called it a very naughty boy and still nothing. so basically spent around 6 hours and pretty well where I was when I started, apart from the front wheels off! Left the nut soaking over night!

Jeez! Am I beginning to sound like Duck? Maybe I’ll buy an angle grinder tomorrow!

Cheers buddy, when I first got it back from my uncle it looked in a sorry state but slowly but surely getting it back to a standard, only a couple of cosmetic things to sort out in time.

Thunderbirds are underrated but when you ride one, you fall in love, especially when running with tors. the sound man! And everyone who See's it appreciates it. I guess it's just my feel good bike. :)
One of those bikes that are more family than actual family, if that makes sense.
