A pint of 'Tetley Mixed' was a very popular drink in Leeds - 50% Bitter/50% mild

Tis a die'ing breed, but you can still get it. Even north of the border you can get a 60' ale that is very like a mild, but not a lot of places sell it. If you look in some supermarkets they do stock some. I found Mann's Brown Ale in our local cheapo store at 89p a bottle, which is very like a mild, the missus usually keeps me stocked up.
[IMG] Get this most places, nice pint.

I also love Oud Bruin, another dark sweet beer, but unfortunately can't buy in this country. Have to get a family member to bring it over from Holland. Sweetheart Stout is about the closest to it we can buy, but not sure you get that south of the border.

My favourite was Wards, a brewery in Sheffield (where I started my drinking career), their best bitter was quite mild, lovely pint.

    Dark & Sweet, that's how I like 'em ;)

Spoke to Tiko, the social sec of the nth staffs branch of the TOMCC, yesterday and he kindly gave me few hints about the area, or Ashbourne is a good place for b&bs, tho not so close to Matlock, but I didn't know that was decided then, camp sites on the whole are a bit basic but biggy seems to have found the ideal one! He also suggests an app/programme called
" tyretotravel" which he uses all the time for sharing planned routes/ride outs on tom toms and garmins, can only be used on devices with Windows.
He was most helpful and said that when we had more definite plans he would be happy to help in anyway with advice. He works at Staffordshire triumph and says if anyone is passing come in for a chat! I would like to thank him for his help and hopefully get to meet him at some point. Maybe we could organise a meet up on one of the evenings with his group?

Understood biggy, what you have sounds good and it would be good if at least one night everyone was in the same place/vicinity so drinks could be had and bull could be pooped. So if everybody were to communicate where they are staying then there could pods of us around, getting together for at least one evening/night.
Oh and the other thing is try and book early due to the popularity with walkers. Sad to see so many people whis bikes have broken down, Tis the only reason to walk isn't it?

Put me on the list if you will. Did the Suzuki "BanditForum" annual rideout in the Peak District last August and there are some really good roads even if it did turn out to be a bit wet. Plenty of good beer and food to be had as well. Personally would prefer B&B or possibly hotel.

Ok, I'll book the camp site at the same place. I've heard you snore so I'll give the bunk room a miss.

I'm in biglad! Just booked in from the 9th to the 12th. (will bring ear plugs!.)
Had a nice chat with the owner and she is now aware that there will be more of us booking (hopefully!)
Great part of the world - have friends just down the road and know the Bulls Head at nearby Monyash - also looking forward to some proper Bakewell Tart.
