@BS1948, we actually have some tracks of different sorts here in Tucson. Here are a some photos--one of the car/motorcycle/kart track (Musselman Honda Circuit), one of the drag strip (Tucson Dragway), and one of the horse track (Rillito Park). The Rillito Park horse track is literally a 3 minute walk from our back gate. Sadly, all are closed currently due to COVID.
It is actually useful as it is. Many of the aircraft can be made airworthy in a matter of days. Those that can't are used for ABDR (Aircraft Battle Damage Repair) training. Been there myself years ago for that training. They do chop some of them up, as well, and send away to the scrapyard. That's fun to watch as they drop a giant blade with a crane that literally chops them up. But, I agree, a motocross and road race course would be great.
