Seems taking the long route could get your collar pulled BBC News - Coronavirus: Bikers fined for 200-mile fish and chips trip https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-york-north-yorkshire-52532267
Yep that is called taking the piss. PS: I've seen this posted in another thread today. Can't remember which one ....
North Yorkshire Police also pulled some motorists up at Malham in the Yorkshire Dales over the weekend They were just about to set up a barbeque and complete with plenty of tins of beer apparently. Some of them had come all the way from Southend in Essex. Of course the lockdown didn't apply to them.
Did they actually get their fish and chips ? I would have thought all the chippies would have been closed ? They're all closed where I live. I think there might be the odd curry house open for take aways but i've not seen a traditional chippy open. But then i've hardly been out since 20th March or so.
Went past a chippy open at lunchtime last week and on the other side of the road is a small grassed area with a couple of benches occupied by a pair of right kangarillapigs sat next to each other chomping down on a kebab and chips FFS. Seems social distancing doesn't apply if your'e a fat, ugly, benefit scrounging layabout. Rant over.
The fish and chip shops round here are still closed, although we still get the mobile fish and chip van in the social club car park every Friday evening. You have to text him your order and then go pick it up (normally you place your order and go in the club for a cheeky pint). Burger King in Havant opened last week for drive through only as did KFC in Basingstoke - apparently cars queued around the block with over 30 in the queue at KFC. No accounting for taste - can't say that sh*t would be my first choice after lock-down! Needless to say, photos showed litter allover the car park about 2 feet from the waste bins - that's something I haven't missed and has been a positive of the lock-down.
