They cannot mate. It is just mindless idiots that are putting innocent people at risk of injury or even death....

Tony you must be unique as most always look for an excuse or want to blame someone else.

I guess it’s a culture that’s grown over the years.

Personally, I reckon that the term speeding should be dropped in favour of dangerous driving. Hacking along at 50mph in a heavily built up area? Fucking madness and deffo dangerous driving. 80mph on a quiet motorway in good conditions? In no way shape or form is that dangerous driving but the camera won't differentiate. I'll tell you what definitely is dangerous and that's me sitting at the wheel trundling along at 68mph falling asleep at the wheel through sheer boredom.

there is always some do gooder that comes out with if you don't break the law you won't get caught. I have been caught a few times over the years and I don't care I am prepared to take the chance. if I had to keep to the speed limits on a nice empty b road I would pack it in tomorrow.

Bob, if old Tiggy does actually ride a bike then he has broken the speed limit along with the rest of us without a doubt.

I'm sure that there are none on this forum who have not exceeded the speed limit at some point.

Totally agree Wessa, that is why “in our time” the officer :skull:decided between dangerous:poop:, mischievous:imp:, or slight lapse :worried: and decided the appropriate penalty.
Law for the masses and speed cameras are tax collectors. In a review in NZ it was found many cameras miss speeders exceeding 50km over which I put in the dangerous category, so not doing the safety job:mad:

It would be interesting to know how much WE are paying to have all these cameras installed at the road side or in a van. I was told at a speed (not safety I noticed) awareness course that the cameras did not make a profit! It’s a disgrace to think of all the money spent on these cameras whilst there are people desperate for access to dialysis machines and all other kinds of health treatments that we “can’t afford”. This coved 19 crisis is costing us billions that may take decades to recover from, yet the safety brigade will still tell us we “need” these cameras, and the general public are to stupid not to know what’s good for them.
And to think there are still some people who think we live in a democracy.

IF we all stuck together, every motor vehicle user in the UK and paid £10 into a “FUCK EM” fund to pay any fines, then all remove our number plates. Rip up and bin all NIP’s received. Obviously a minority will eventually be prosecuted/fined hence the fund. Within a short period of time the system would collapse in chaos. Then agree to put number plates back on when the powers that be stop being cunts! Any money left in the fund can go towards filling all the fookin pot holes and I’ll take £10k as it’s my idea. :yum
Obviously this would never happen coz the said cunts have already pussy whipped us into being subservient.

If the "born again biker" was aimed at me, I'm afraid you're wrong. I'm 56 now and I had never owned or ridden a bike at all before I did my direct access course in 1999. I then had a CBR 600FV for about a couple of years before moving on to a VFR400 NC30 which I absolutely loved and wish I still owned. I got rid of the NC30 when I went self employed as I simply couldn't trust myself to ride it sensibly and feared losing my licence. I never owned a bike for a few years but couldn't stand it and bought myself the Daytona, chosen because a: It's a beautiful bike, b: It's British and c: It's not a bike I can hoon around on like the NC30. So the GTBDOTW monika relates to the break between the NC and the Daytona.

I'm seriously looking at selling a couple of my bikes and buying a microlite,

I'm sick of these bloody cameras everywhere. We have a camera van that parks on a hill no more than a mile from where I live. There's no houses anywhere near. Going up the hill it has a crawler lane, so the unwary take the opportunity to pass slower moving traffic and if they should go slightly over the limit, the van is there, almost hidden until the last moment, to send them a mugshot in the post. All the locals know its there, so its the holidaymakers that get caught and surprise, surprise, since the lockdown the van hasn't been there for ages.
