I had my bike trip to Spain cancelled two weeks ago with full refund. That's the way it is sadly in this current climate.

 

Yes Jon. this was with Brittany Ferries. Booked out on 14th June to return 24th June.

 

I thought it a bit odd as well. It is ten weeks before the sailing which seems a long way out to cancel.

 

I've got a return sailing booked in June as well, not heard about a refund or anything yet.
But it was for St Malo and Caen rather than Spain.

I see the Tour de France have just rescheduled to August / September, they must have confidence things will be better by then. Gives me hope as I've got a ferry booking for Aug 7th....fingers crossed!

Looking like I may just miss out on my June trip to France......
Luckily I've got one in September as well

 

Hopefully August will be ok for our trip to France, our fingers are crossed but if we do go I think it will be a very different kind of holiday

 

Been watching the situation in Spain very closely and my eldest daughter lives out there and we get regular updates of what life is like in her region.
PM Sanchez said "By the end of June, we as a country will have entered into the new normality if the epidemic remains under control” ................not close to normality.

How safe it will be to visit Spain is anyone’s guess and one thing to check before traveling anywhere in the world is does your travel insurance cover you if you go down with the virus.
There’ll be travellers who won’t have adequate cover and could end up having massive medical and repatriation costs.

 

I get my insurance through my Bank. You raise a good point Dave. I will definitely be checking on the Cv-19 cover before I agree to make the trip..

 

Was on the news somewhere today sky news I think that Spain is looking to open the tourist trade soon
Starting with Spanish people first but then only some European countries
The UK may have to wait until next year because of the number of cases we’ve had
